How we care for the ill Today. Many illnesses today are cured by the work of scientist; medicine. The most common illness around today is cancer. Some forms of cancer cannot be cured. Scientists have been trying for years to find cures for cancer. People today are afraid of diseases such as aids and modern day leprosy. There are different care facilities for people suffering such as Marie Curie and Helen’s House. In the time of the Old Testament father Damien looked after people who were suffering from leprosy. There are multiple charities that help support the work of scientists in finding cures for illnesses, like Cancer Research UK and Children with AIDS Charity. There are many ways people care for those who are ill today, some Christians believe that the best way to care for somebody who is ill is to pray for them. That they stay safe and well. The Relationship between Faith and Science. Many people today rely on Science when it comes to cure illnesses. Our faith is devoted to the work of science and medicine. We show minimal faith in God to make us well. We put our trust in the hands of science that it will make us better. Most Christians can’t find time in their busy lives to attend mass; some young people feel it’s uncool or boring to display their faith at mass. However, some people still show faith to God, they pray to him asking to keep ill loved ones well and safe, they go on pilgrimages to places like Lourdes to pray for health and they give money to charities to help get better health cure for the ill in poorer countries. Does Religion have a say in Political Affairs? In today’s society, people are generally attracted to whoevers ideas best protects their personal interests, and in the democratic political power struggle, they vote for the party that best represents that ideology.
