Vulgar language routinely appears in programs and movies which is accessible to youth. It is realistic and believable to younger youth which can lead them to aggressiveness. As with our American youth viewing these ideas, these images are imposed on the viewers, especially the younger generation. There is a huge amount of younger children that sit and watch television for many hours. In doing that it will handicap their brains.
I strongly believe that media on T.V has a negative impact on young children/teenagers. Everyday, we are bombarded with countless images and messages on our televisions and in public advertisements. We follow them, take-in every last syllable of whatever the media throws at us. Think about the most common shows of our generation: Gossip Girl, The Hills/City, True Blood, Family Guy etc. These are called ‘shame shows’, shows that give us what we want, but what they give us is so shameful that we wouldn’t even admit we love them to other people.
The rising popularity of video games has instigated a wide range of concerns from those who believe that playing games can corrupt the minds of children, teens, and even adults. Possible harmful and helpful effects of video games have been a subject of debate among parents, researchers, gamers, and video game producers. The arguments were mostly about the games’ potential good and bad influence concerning children and adolescents. Based on recent research findings by scientists and psychologists, 90% of American youth play video games in a daily basis. It is an extremely popular pastime among children and teens, though most parents see it as a time-waster and a negative influence.
Psychological and sociological studies continuously reveal that TV programming including advertising can have negative influence on the American youth. In recent years, the number of children and teenagers watching television has increased significantly. Lack of parental involvement has led the American youth exposed to violent, pornographic, and unintelligent programming. Unfortunately, there are major interests that respond to monetary gain by keeping this media outlet still operational than actually safeguard children and teenagers healthy mind. As a result on this family and society negligence on our youth, many children and teenagers have psychological problems that are expressed in different ways through inappropriate cognitive development and deviant behavior.

What can be done by parents? How can it help with censored channels? Censorship in television really relies on the person whom is watching either TV or a movie.
Sue Palmer is another sociologist that believes the increasing impact of technology and the media over the past 50 years is causing childhood to deteriorate. Palmer argues that in modern society there is a ‘toxic childhood’ due to an excessively screen-based culture which she feels is why there has been an increase in developmental conditions in children. She has reasons for some of these conditions, for example ADHD could be caused to screen saturation as the rapid changes of images on TV can make an immature brain go into overdrive resulting in the child seeing real life as boring. Palmer also believes the increase in screen-based activities has made it more difficult for children to develop literacy skills. Also Palmer

Television is a very important part of society and most households have at least one television. Entire families rely on television for entertainment and children are exposed to television images since their very first days of life. It is important for society to re-evaluate the different aspects of the child development and the influence that violent television images have on the child behavior. Even if children are aware of the difference between reality and television images; their brain works differently.
