As I have gotten older, I have seen the way kids are these days, with no respect, no discipline, no responsibilities, and no morals. I am going to list the steps I believe one should take to raise a good child, or one who doesn’t get in trouble. There are many different approaches to raising a good child. There have been many books written about how to raise a good child. As a parent you must use a model that is right for you, because raising a child is a tough job. As a parent, one wonders, “How do I manage all of the everyday responsibilities and raise a good well-rounded child, with all of the distractions?” I believe there are several important factors: First, I believe the parent must be a good role model. I believe that a child is influenced by her parents more than anyone else that comes into her life. Being a part of an active Christian home and church, and spending time with God is important. I believe living by faith, showing love, kindness, and generosity will lead to a natural and normal way of life for a good child. A child must be shown a lot of love. This love may be demonstrated by expressions that are genuine of worth and affection. One can spoil a child by giving her everything she wants, but you cannot spoil a child with too much love. Why? For some children a side effect to physical punishment may be more aggressive behavior. Yes, I believe a child should be disciplined. For me it was the “time-out,” not the time-out chair. I had to stand in the corner.Time did not start until I was completely quiet. The time was determined by my age, one minute for every year of age. Even one minute to a small child seems like forever when she is being punished. Then as a child gets older, you remove something that means a lot to them, like an iPod, phone, tablet, computer, etc. When you do this, it gives the child time to think about what she did wrong and how to correct it next
