Megan’s Talk 7-13 Obedience I am going to start out with a scripture from D&C 93:24, 26-28. It says, “The spirit of truth is of God, and no man can receiveth the fullness unless he keepeth his commandments. He that keepeth God’s commandments recieveth truth and light, until he is glorified in truth and knoweth all things.” Our Heavenly father has given us the commandments to guide us and to protect us. Being obedient is doing God’s will. He knows what is best for us and he doesn’t want us to get hurt, so obeying His commandments will save us a lot of grief in the long run.
Our focus as believers, for ourselves, is to love and worship God, to uplift Him in everything we do, to glorify Him in our lives, to love those around us, to be a light in a dark world, and to share God’s love with everyone around us. It ultimately comes back to us serving God and pleasing Him (Crabb, 1977, p. 21). As Psalm 144:15 states, “Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord”. Rather than seeking happiness, one should focus their efforts on seeking God. From there, true happiness will emerge.
Both of the lines emphasize repayment, as the deeds of the wicked should receive punishment that is justly deserved. The psalmist appears to wish that punishment from the Lord should be justified based on actions. Verse five shows the characteristics of synthetic parallelism. Each of the first three lines give reason that formulates the conclusion announced in the fourth being that God will punish them accordingly. The psalmist was reassuring himself that their failure was eminent since they oversee the work of the
According to Dr. Hawkins spiritual gifts have a motivational purpose because they enable the believer to participate in ministry that impacts lives which provides an experience of joy in the use of these gifts. True 21. The doctrine of the Trinity teaches about Gods concern for unity and intimacy among his followers. True 22. Understanding the doctrine of Eschatology can help to provide believers with a source of joy when they are enduring struggles, because this doctrine emphasizes that believers have a future secured by God.
It shows Christians that they should help everyone who is in need, leaving no one behind. Jesus also has the Commandment of Love, ‘you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart ... You shall love your neighbour as yourself’. The Commandments of Love underpins the relationship between God and his believers. The Ten Commandments are a list of religious rules given to the people of Israel by God. It outlines the behaviours that are not allowed personally or not to be tolerated in others.
Everything that we do is all through the communication between God and humanity, and humanity as a whole. When we communicate with others, we are sharing our emotions, our stories, and who we are, so we can all be understood. To meet that one special person, who knows everything about you, who takes your heart into their hands, and vice versa, you learn to love that other human being that God has blessed you with to have in your life. You learn about each other, you both know what makes you happy and sad, and you both feel accepted by each other despite all of the flaws you may seem to have. Trust is a gift from God, which he gave to humans, so that we can learn to trust people, and our significant other, especially during hard times.
There is no need to be scared to go to heaven because heaven is a better and more peaceful place. I believe in this essay Jonathan Edwards tries to scare you to be afraid of the lord and it actually causes the feeling of the peaceful and loving god you believe in into someone to be scared of. If you believe in Christ you shouldn’t be afraid and later throughout my essay you will find out why. Everyone will be held through the same punishment in the time the lord shall come but it wouldn’t be anything dramatic. If you believe in him and read the bible correctly god
Finally, this friend is going to have confidence that they already have a friend with like beliefs and, therefore, a good support system. When it comes to getting into a congregation, they have someone there that they already
Being independent does not mean that we have to cut everybody out of our lives to accomplish what we desire. Equality 7-2521 says he has found “the answer”, which he had long been searching for. That he, himself will be the meaning of new things. He announces that he is done with the word “we” because it is the “root of all evils”. Equality 7-2521 now sees himself as the “face of god”.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” The author covers confession and states, “followers of Christ have been given the authority to receive the confession of sin and forgive it in his name” (Ibid, 146). Forgiveness is conditional thing that God offers contingent on one forgiving as one has been
