How to Live a Dignified Life

My pastor once gave a sermon that made me open my eyes. He spoke about his life before he became a Christian. He was suffering under the addiction to drugs. He ignored the angel on his shoulder habitually, had no purpose or goals. His life was a catastrophe. His friend’s vocation was to evangelize to him and at that moment, he was determined to make a change. He began to adhere to Christian virtues, grew in faith, strived to become a pastor and did everything in his will to achieve it. He is one of my role models and a respected figure amongst many. As a teenager, I realized that I was wasting my life doing nothing --disregarding the fact that others would not aspire to be like me. When I consider my demeanor and characteristics in the past, I am not proud of them. I was genuinely inspired to bend over backwards to put dignity into my life. Today, I am here to tell you to aim towards a dignified life because I regret not living one before. You are young; therefore, what you are now will affect your future. Life is a blueprint. It plans out the structure of the building. The entire structure depends on how well the foundation is built. If the foundation is weak, it will collapse but if it’s well constructed, it will stand secured. Dignity is imperative in your life’s blueprint. Integrity. Optimism. Ambition. If you progress and enhance those characteristics, you will possess a life worthy of respect. Dignity is the state of abiding good morals, being positive, and being perseverant. Integrity is a notable quality to be blessed with. One with integrity possesses the will and passion to help others. Integrity and philanthropy branches from dignity.
