This could lead to society being more cooperative, as people comprehend that everyone is of equal value to society, regardless of the role they fulfil. This could in turn lead to a more respectful and happier society, as people live in harmony and respect others and are respected. 'Organic society' could lead to greater role fulfilment. People who feel they perform inconsequential roles in society will understand that they are equally integral to society. This will give them a greater sense of identity and rootedness.
Carver is lacking in interpersonal effectiveness. He needs to address his ability to communicate and build interpersonal relationships. He needs to build a rapport with his employees to be successful. A successful leader “can help people contain and recover from their emotional stressors on the job” (Newman, Guy & Mastracci, 2007, p. 13). Carver was actually the stressor in many situations.
EXPLAIN HOW PARTICIPATING IN THERAPEUTIC GROUP ACTIVITIES CAN BENEFIT AN INDIVIDUALS IDENTITY, SELF ESTEEM AND WELL BEING. Participating in group activities can benefit an individuals identity, self esteem and well being because it gives individuals a safe and comfortable place where they can share or work out problems. It normalises things and puts like minded people together. Therefore they can identify with each other and gain an insight in how they do things and offer support or suggestions. By being part of a group the individual will feel less isolated and come to a better understanding of their own identity.
They suggest that a happy person tends to pay less attention to details and information for fear that over-analysing the information may affect their happy state (Ottati and Isbell, 68). However, a sad person tends to deeply analyse information in the hope of enhancing or repairing their unhappy situation (Ibid.). Another important point made by the two authors is that people interpret their negative feelings as results of defects in their environment (Ibid. ), which then motivates them to scrutinize everything around them. The population’s state of fear is an example of a negative mood which then leads to the population believing that there’s a defect in their environment.
For example, if I was praising an individual for outstanding work, I would have a jovial but very sincere tone to my voice and make lots of eye contact, my face would also convey how pleased I was. I will (if the individual welcomes touch) put my hand on their arm or shoulder. The use of language is also important. With some service users, language needs to be a little simpler, without sounding patronising. Body language and eye contact are key with all communication.
Things are not rational and have a tendency to become clouded and unclear. If this happens, it is best to step back from the situation and wait until your emotions have calmed. I for one, have much experience as an emotional thinker, and it has caused me nothing but anguish. As Ridel (2015) described, "There are shaping agents that hinder our thinking skills to become critical thinkers" (p.27). I have learned from my mistakes and improved my ability to calm my emotions and carry on a mature conversation, without ruining it by having an emotional outburst due to my bias opinions on the matter at hand.

I have had many experiences with individuals that have demanded they do not want to change, not ready to change, don’t know if they want to change, not ready to get clean and sober or change what they have been doing to themselves. Interventions can work when meeting the individual where they are and working through fears, ambivalences, cravings, and withdrawal symptoms, as well as providing hope, security and hopefulness about being successful in the recovery process through treatment. - about relationships as their non-disabled peers. The desire to be accepted and successful is important to most of us. To love and to be loved and to have friendship is the most natural thing in the world. Even today, people are often ignorant about issues of relationships, sexuality and disability. People with physical disabilities may not have had the same opportunities of learning about themselves or others because of restricted social contact (mobility and access problems are probably the main reasons).
My family had little money troubles and I was always well looked after. Although my mother was a tad strict at times, I believe that this helped me with my education and outlook on life. I believe I’m mature for my age, and look at life differently than my peers. I know live in shared accommodation, which has improved my mental state as this means I’m more able to do what I want when I want, without having to please anyone else. * Due to all this I believe that I that at work I am a reliable, hard working person.
