Learn to drive a stick shift “If you do not drive a stick shift, you have no right to live in California.” I lived in California, but I did not drive a stick shift. I did not realize how bad it is until the day I bought my first car. I used to drive my uncle’s automatic Mazda RX8. When I went to the dealer with my friends, I naturally thought I should get an automatic. I stopped at a brand new silver BMW 128i, staring at it. My friend Mike said: “ Yo, bro that is some automatic shit, you should get a manual.” “ Why?” I asked. Terry and David responded: “A man should drive a stick shift! They are more drivable and fun. ” Looking into their eyes, I really wanted to say I did not know how to drive a stick shift. But I am afraid they might laugh at me. So I just kept quiet and went to see some stick shift cars. I didn’t buy anything that day and I felt really sad because I could not handle a stick shift. At dinner table that evening. I could still remember my aunt made us pepperoni pizza smiled like wonderful juicy cheese melting down the warm crust. And the fried chicken wings looked so crispy and covered with the special handmade BBQ sauce. If it was any other day I would give the pizza and wings a big shot, but today I did not want even a single bite. During the dinner, everybody could tell there was something wrong with me. “I want to learn how to drive a stick shift.” I said absent-minded. “Sure, Paul will teach you all the tips.” Said by my aunt. “Paul” is my uncle’s name. “Don’t fool me, and I want to learn it ASAP!” I screamed. “Sure, sure, sure” Paul answered with a helpless smile. “Deal, we start from tomorrow.” I then quickly responded. “Deal” My uncle’s face looked more helpless. I could not fell asleep the whole night, just excited for learning the stick shift. The next day morning, it was a Sunday. I woke up at 7 am, dressed up.
