Chapter 1 In Chapter 1 the book talks about the college experience. It goes into different details about settling into a college routine, talks about why college is important and many other new things that come with college. It explains that college isn’t all about sports and partying that as young adults we have that image of college in our head. College is another step in education, and in today’s society having a college degree is very important when trying to get a high paying job. Having a college degree makes living the American Dream a lot easier, and it helps you grow as an adult and teaches you leadership roles.
Michael Jordan English Comp 1 23 October 13 Compare and Contrast: College living and Home living College is an experience that we anticipate our whole lives. We hear stories about how great it will be, how we'll find many great and diverse friends, and how it will be the best times of our lives. What we don't think about is the transition from home living to living at school. There will be many changes some good, some bad. In some ways, things will remain the same.
One question I have come across in my years as a student isn’t the how we say awake, but the why we stay awake. “Voluntary sleep deprivation is a common occurrence for many college students…”. When you’re in college or even high school, getting good grades matter. In order to achieve that goal of straight A’s we students have convinced ourselves that the more we can stuff into our brains, the better we’ll do on the test. However stuffing information into your brain takes time, which is taken up by being in school and other activities.
All of these major people involved with helping a campus succeed would be out of a job and like everyone else be in a need of help. College being free would mean higher taxes for Americans, but in the end, it will benefit the future by having intelligent citizens, brighter society, and a smart nation. In conclusion, college tuition being free allows everyone to receive a higher education and become an intelligent citizen instead of a gullible citizen. It gives people a chance to get a job, earn money and be able to have an amazing future. College is a place where you gain independence and learn something new every day.
I quickly began to attend college classes through my employer to make gains in my career and try to possibly secure my future. I had no idea until this point the many advantages that college was going to provide for me if I allowed it to. Continuing on in the job I had accepted it opened opportunities to study courses to get me promoted and increase my wages which bettered my lifestyle for me and my family and made things easier. I had finally found a job that I was happy in and chances to increase my thirst for knowledge as I could continue my education as long as I wanted. I finally had self- confidence and the drive to make the most of my career as I neared completion of Banker’s College.
College At Last! Starting college later in life can be a rewarding experience. Going Back to college has given me a sence of achievement, Also has made me a better role model for my children, and also will bring better carrer opportunities within the near future. Going back to college has been a long term goal of mine and i'm very proud of my self for taking the initiative to reach my goal. Though, i know that with me being a full time employee and parent, college will be a little more complicated.

The physical toll is based on the change in schedule, the additional homework, the late nights and long walks to and from campus. There is always a physical change when one’s routine is altered. Trying to balance food, and sleep needs appropriately will be the key to making sure the new experience doesn’t affect me physically. It is easy to see that financial cost for college isn’t the only cost to a person. The benefits out-weigh the strain whether financial, physical, or mental if your mind is in a positive place and you are willing and ready to take on your new experience and have a successful
After all my homework and cheer activities are completed, my personal entertainment was also a big challenge for me to overcome. Since, I had so much going on I told myself to keep going and to conquer my distraction so I could advance in my nursing degree. Facing a lot of distractions in college I found that homework, athletics, and my personal entertainment are my biggest distraction to overcome in my nursing degree. After I finally graduated high school, I did not realized how important homework was until coming to college. When I showed up my first day of college I realized then how important homework really was.
