How Can Alternative Sources of Energy Be Harnessed

Nowadays the natural resource of the world is running up. Exploring alternative energy sources becomes one of the biggest projects in all countries. In order to harness these alternative sources of energy effectively, different countries make different programmes based on their own natural resources. This essay will focus on the present situation of energy system and provide some contractive solutions to improve the alternative sources system. In past decades, almost all the countries use oil, natural gas or coal to heat homes and businesses during the long frozen winters. Countries much rely on using the fossil fuels to supply the energy that the whole city needs. At the beginning of eighteenth century to the end of the nineteenth century, coal is the main energy. Then the petroleum industry developed in twentieth century accelerating the use of energy and promoting economy. But the natural resources is limited, the non-renewable energy resources is on the verge of running out. It is so urgent and important for a country to save energy and find alternative energy. Furthermore, the transition energy use causes environmental pollution. For instance, the fog in London was the epitome of air pollution of industrial revolution. The main reason causing London smog event which killed thousands of people was industrial emissions of heating coal in winter. Sadly, ten years later, London occurred a similar smog event resulting 1,200 people unnatural death. Until the 1970s,the city of London switched gas and electricity instead of coal, and moved the power plant to outskirts, so that the level of urban air pollution reduced by 80%.Then London removed the ”fog” hat. In addition, so far, the development of non-renewable energy is limited by high initial costs.
