HOTEL SECURITY AND SAFETY ISSUE Safety is one of the prominences given by the hotel itself to secure the tourist to stay at their hotel. Currently, there are many hotels which provide the best security to their customer especially 5 and 6 stars hotels. No matter how secure the hotel is, there is still lacunae in certain part of security. One of the cases happen during 2008 is the reason why a safety issue is affecting our hospitality industries. On 27 November 2008, Taj Mahal Palace & Tower which is a five-star hotel had been attacked by the terrorist. According to the witnesses they said, young south Asian men in their early 20s, stormed into the hotel at about 9:45 p.m. and opened fire indiscriminately. The shooting then followed by a series of sets of explosions that set fire to parts of the century-old building. Screams were heard and black smoke and flames billowed, continuing to burn until dawn. Apparently, this kind of attack had caused numerous numbers of deaths not only for local but also foreigner who stayed at the hotel during the attack. This attack automatically affect on the hospitality industry where people who already booked a ticket to stay at the hotel cancelled their ticket and this situation same goes with airplane ticket to Mumbai. Many international airlines temporarily discontinued operations to Mumbai, in the interest of passenger and crew safety. Another case is on 17 July 2009 at JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was hit by separate bombings five minutes apart. More than 50 people were injured in the blasts and 7 were killed and 6 from it is foreigner. This incident causes many tourists to have a second thought on coming to this country.
