The cruise industry today has become way more competitive with other land-based resorts and vacation places than ever before. Cruise ships really do have it all. I personally have never been on a cruise because every time my parents would offer my brother & I would decline. I really regret that decision now because the cruise commercials always look so spectacular that I want to hop right on! I would never be able to afford a nice cruise vacation though, I would say it is about a grand minimum for one of the nicer, upscale boats. The cruise industry worldwide is definitely raising the bar though. All the different activities on-board are unstoppable. Cruise ships have inside malls, movie theaters, spas, restaurants, pools, live entertainment and views you’ll never forget. Cruise ships are very special compared to other land-based resorts because of the unique variety they have to offer. When a cruise ship docks, the world is yours for the keeping. A ship may dock many times or just once at a special destination, but either way the guests are just as ecstatic. They are then let free to do as they please in a new wonder-world for a certain period of time; a cruise ship is like a vacation within a vacation. Don’t get me wrong, I have loved almost every land-based vacation I have ever been on. They still have all the same variety of things to offer such as the spas and the shopping, but what they lack is the mystical feel. The closest land-based resort I can recognize to compare with a cruise ship would be Sandals. Sandals offers everything a cruise does with some of those same amazing views. Other land-based resorts have not been able to accomplish even coming close yet.
