The Cerner System has different sections that are used in the hospital setting. An emergency section (First Net), a section for surgical area (Surginet) and Medconnect for the remaining areas of the hospital. This system also includes Physician Computer Order Entry(PCOE). This allows the physcians to enter orders on the computer either in or out of the hospital. This is a great feature as it prevents errors in transcription and the nurses are not required to call the doctor and translate what he wants.

Article or Case Law Search Tresa Jellison HCS/430 July 29, 2013 Professor Mary Louise Dietrich Article or Case Law Search Ambulatory surgery centers are health care facilities that provide the ability of having a surgical procedure done without staying overnight at the hospital. They are specifically designed to give elective same day surgeries without complications and to cease some of the minor traffic at the hospitals and staying overnight and facing possible termination of patient treatment due to staff shortage, insurance rejection, and room shortages. By coming to a surgery center this means the patient can go home the same day after a short post-operative observation in the recovery area. With the new technology the surgery center will receive less patient infection occurrence and the only issue with an ambulatory center is the patient will pay more to be seen and operated on in one day than they would if they stayed overnight at a hospital or rehab facility. Along with the surgery center there are legal issues that are involved in these facilities.
The play took place exclusively in Bernard’s apartment living room. The European style apartment was realistic, yet simple with limited distractions. The apartment had wooden floors, carpet, a window, a desk, a sofa, and multiple exits and entrances. Although the window was subtle, it added depth and context to the stage. When it was nighttime, the audience could see that it was dark outside and when it was daytime, the window was lit accordingly.

You sponge her in bed. You have checked the bed and room, but you are concerned because she appears confused and you feel she is in danger of falling when she tries to get out of bed. Her daughter and husband are in attendance. You have explained what tests will be carried out, when the doctor will be coming and explain about visiting hours. You ensure that they understand what you have just explained to them.
Anesthetic nurses require their attention directly to the patient before, between and after surgery. There are a variety of anesthetic methods and anesthesia that could be administrated to the patient depending on the surgical needs. The anesthetist’s job is usually to help the patient become sedated in order to minimize any sensation of pain. Before the surgery the Nurse Anesthetist has the responsibility to go into the room of the patient that is being prepped for surgery and explain to them in detail what is going to be going on during the surgery. These advanced practice nurses then create a
In an hospital setting a new baccalaureate degree nurse can be employed in critical care units where they can work and interact with other medical practitioners like Doctors and ARNPs, they have the knowledge to analyze the medical care plan and can confidently question them if the care [plan or medication may look incorrect for the patient (Rosseter, 2010). A new associate degree nurse does not have the training and cannot perform this
Therefore, once medically cleared, we have to rely on inpatient psychiatric facilities or group homes like the one Dr. Primrose runs to ensure that these patients remain safe while, in this case, initiating prescriptions to manage medical and psychiatric issues and gathering resources that will be necessary for this patient to regain her independence. This teleconference was efficient and cost effective for the following reasons; an unnecessary one hour trip was avoided to the facility where no beds were available. This patient was able to receive appropriate, necessary medical treatment while psychiatry was reviewing the patient’s chart and then, in this case, finding appropriate placement. The two Psychiatrists involved were able to teleconference with the patient and gather necessary information and details of the patient’s present state of mind and ability to act with sound judgment. The patient’s accessible EMR avoided time spent faxing and/or having to orally present patient’s case several times over.
F. Scenario Sometimes patients are admitted into the hospital for something as simple as daily intravenous antibiotics. They are independent with all of their activities of daily living. Sometimes these patients are intertwined with other patients in shared rooms. These independent patients, because of their alertness, should be able to be in a private room. These patients not only of low acuity, but these patients will be happier not being around sicker
