Bob and Thelma are the owner of Hossier Burger Restaurant and are considering getting a computer system for their restaurant. They want to hire a consultant to help them choose the right computer system for their restaurant. Applying the SDLC approach will help Bob and Thelma in the planning and designing process for their computer system. In this paper, it will show the steps Bob and Thelma need to take in order to create a computer system for their restaurant; identify each system characteristic and the major subsystems for Hoosier Burger Restaurant. SDLC is a good way for Bob and Thelma to start when it comes to thinking about a computer system for their restaurant. The SDLC is a process of several steps that need to be taken in order for them to get started. The SDLC has four steps which are as listed: (1) planning and selection, (2) analysis, (3) design, and (4) implementation and operation. The first step is important because it will tell who will be using the computer system and why the system is needed. Bob and Thelma would need to sit down with the consultant and create a plan for the computer system. In their case they will be creating a system for their restaurant and their plans should consist of the purpose or the need for change. For example, our job is to help organized Hossier Burger Restaurant and make their restaurant a more updated restaurant. Bob and Thelma has been using the methods of doing everything by a paper-based system which include customer orders, .inventory of perishable goods and nonperishable goods. Our goal is to develop a computer system that can help them manage their daily tasks in an organized manner. The next step of the SDLC process is analysis. In the step Bob, Thelma, and the consultant will take a look at the current system that Hossier Burger has and see where and if changes need to be made. They will have to know
