Main Problem -1997 financial crisis The financial crisis in 1997 has a huge impact on the economy especially to the company’s including the Honda Cars. This crisis doubled the cost of imported parts and assembly equipment. Although a sudden increase of their materials, Honda cannont increase its price. -Competition In the Philippines there are around 19 car manufacturing business on the market. This competitors would have a great impact on Honda like loss in market share and profitability may decline. Objective The objective of this study are: 1. To analyze and determine new set of policies and strategies to overcome the financial crisis 2. To develop strategies that will make Honda increase its market share amidst the increasing competitors Alternative Courses of Action Honda should revise and formulate new strategies and policies that can adopt to the changes in economy like the sudden crisis. Honda could also develop products and other ideas that will make them above and unique against the rivals Swot Analysis Strengths -Innovation. - Market share leadership in smart segment. - Strong brand equity. -Unique products. -Production System that is refined over the years. - High and powerful research and development R&D. - Best market share leadership revolutionary engine technology with the help of which Honda is gaining success day by day. - Popularity is termed as one of the best strength which results in betterment for the company Weaknesses -Cost structure of Honda is high as compare to other automobile manufacturers -Apart from Nissan & Toyota, Honda requires privileged purchase deposit Honda focus more on international deposits as compare to domestic deposits - Civic model is consider as one of the major weakness for Honda Company - Honda products are termed as inoffensive in terms of style and design -
