As a child, every fall, my parents would take me and my siblings camping. Dad worked a lot, so we counted down the days of summer, until we got to be together. Every breath I took was like I was inhaling my childhood. I could hear the waves bouncing off the rocks as we sat on the patio and had lunch. The smell of the water and the warmth that touched my skin, when the sun peeked through the clouds, took me back in time to the campground.
Dad carved out ¼ of the second lot into our garden. He turned over the earth and plotted the layout of the fruits and vegetables that would grow abundantly in the garden. He worked construction most of his life. Work was plentiful in the summertime but during the winter months he would be laid off for the season and he drew unemployment. When my mom died in 1970, he bought
Our favorite place to experience this ritual was at the top of the Blackrock Summit trail. Unfortunately most of my own personal pictures are on my friend’s camera, which is not with my friend in college, but I have found a few from my phone and a few on the internet that will suffice. I enjoyed four nights this past summer with friends in this place, and that is why I have decided to discuss the processes that created this area in Shenandoah National Park. A couple more over there, but not many. It's a really relaxed vibe at this weekend festival in the northern California coastal hills. Officially a no-alcohol venue, the vast majority here are blissed out on pot and redwoods, friendships and frisbees, marathon dancing to the electronic music, and a killer, thrumming speaker system that is shaking the ground under me. And here I sit, amidst the peaceful play of a young generation, reading a tense story directly related to what was the scariest aspect of my childhood -- the threat of nuclear war, and those air raid drills where you'd duck and cover under your school desk as if that would mitigate the effects of a nuclear bomb
Varsity football games are what give these small towns the energy to go through the week. Without these nights there would be nothing that the community would look forward to and it would start to disintegrate. In small towns there isn’t much to do and most people were born and raised here and many of their past generations were too, so they grew up loving their team, and at some point in their life played in it. They

I was up before school doing chores every morning and by the time I had got to school I had already done more work in that day then most people in my class would do in that week. My identity here at Central still isn’t exactly what fits in with everyone else. Now I am a farm girl in the city trying to earn her
Running Head: REFLECTION ESSAY Reflection Essay Geog 200 October 27, 2012 Living in New Mexico is something I never thought would ever happen. I am originally from Georgia where we have an abundance of tall trees, green grass, lakes, rivers, and woods to stroll in on a daily basis. New Mexico is a very beautiful place if you give it time to grow on you. After living here for seven years I have come to call it home, whether I like the idea of it or not it has become a reality for me. One of the best scenery spots that my family and I have come to enjoy would be Sandia Crest.
