The definition of home to me is a place where my family, friends, and church have made me feel safe. This can also be defined as an environment that I can always call home. I grew up in a little town called Clemmons, North Carolina. The town of Clemmons is only five minutes from the city of Winston-Salem and I only lived in the town for a couple of years. The memories I developed in Clemmons are still very vivid in my mind today. The town of Clemmons is one of the couple of places I would call home. The second place I call home is nicknamed “Nowhere, North Carolina” otherwise known as Yadkinville, North Carolina. As Urban Dictionary puts it, “The biggest event of the past ten years was the addition of Bojangles. This small rural town is characterized by the simple youth hanging out in the parking lots of various establishments on weekends, mainly after dark. Centered in one of the last remaining dry counties. Yadkinville, a place that isn’t even known to people who live ten minutes away.” I have lived the majority of my life in Yadkinville. The reasoning behind my family moving to Yadkinville was simply because my grandparents lived a shorter distance away and could take care of me. Being able to be close to my grandparents and cousins made Yadkinville seem more like home to me. I know my parents made the right choice in moving; if we didn’t move I don’t think I would be the person I am today. I am blessed to have had my grandparents by my side, and they have definitely influenced decisions I have made throughout my lifetime. I would say my grandparents’ home is just as welcoming as my own. In the summertime, while my parents were away at work, they would take care of me. I would spend all my summer days helping my grandma cook lunch and helping my grandpa feed the cows. At nighttime my grandma would help me build a tent in the living room to act like I was
