But for my sister she has to go back and forth spending a lot of money on gas, then she has to get her home work in on time plus she has to deal with her two children and also house work. The only benefit that my sister has over me is that she is able to interact with her classmates and professor but I am not able to do that. With the subject I chose to write about I already have the opportunity to do both so I already know what to expect from both online and a classroom setting. I did my High School learning in a classroom setting and it was pretty difficult for me. Because I had no transportation and no one to take care of my children and to make things worst I was pregnant.
In this article it talks about how Working with families is one of the most important aspects of being an early childhood professional and still an area in which many educators have received a little practice. Teachers spend hours learning about child development, developmentally appropriate practices, health and safety, playgrounds, and play. At times it seems that teachers focus on children as if they appear from nowhere, land in their classrooms, and merely disappear at the end of the day. Teachers may ignore the settings in which they spend their time away from the classroom, believing they are not very important. But the home environment is influencing what goes on in school.
Some of the seniors said “that they would actually come to school and not get signed out early.” On the other hand teachers and maybe even some parents wouldn’t be happy with this situation. Why? Because teachers wouldn’t get pay as much as they do now, it would be less. Some parents would not want to have their kids at home all the time; they would like to have some free time by themselves. Starting school at 11:30 in the morning would be great.
There are three different methods used to assess student knowledge: diagnostic, formative, and summative. In order to test students on the knowledge and understanding of kindergarten contend standard K.6 “Students understand that history relates to events, people, and places of other times,” the teacher can implement the use of all three assessment methods. The diagnostic method is an assessment on the child’s previous knowledge or understanding of a subject, this method could involve asking the students if they know any of the elements of the content standard. For example, a teacher could ask if a student knows what the word “history” means. And depending on the students’ response, the teacher could take that question a step further by asking if the student personalized questions about the student or the student’s family, or even historical figures or events.
Public Schooling vs. Home Schooling Many parents desire for their children to gain the best education they can to become successful in life. Home schooling becomes an option to parents who feel that a public school education can hinder their children to becoming well established in the world. Parents often make these decisions based on opinions from the media, newspapers, and gossip where they can often hear the "wonderful" things about home schooling like providing the student with more hands-on opportunities and the ability to move at a comfortable pace for the student. In home schooling there is no comprehension of being bounded to public school calendars and how school can take place anywhere and anytime. Public school is better than home schooling because public school mentally prepares students for the real world; giving students knowledge on how to deal with bullying and peer pressure, and also allowing them to interact with different students and teachers.
After reading " And then I Went to School," and "College Pressures", its evident that the word education is viewed differently depending on the "students" background. In the short story " And then I Went to School," the purpose of education to ____ was a lot different then those of the white people. Joseph Suina found that the purpose of education in the white men village was to fit in with them and learn their ways and traditions of life. Although this is not what Joesph wanted he was forced this new education upon him. Joseph believed that his education came for his grandmother, learning how to cook, clean, and take care of his family.
Rita is Liverpudlian and, as Russell experienced she didn’t try much in school, he expresses her feeling thus; ‘But studyin’ was for wimps wasn’t it? See if I’d started taking school seriously I would have become different from me mates, an’ that’s not allowed.’ You can see by this that Rita did not try very much in school as she tried her best to fit in. I will explore this further later in the essay. This play is different to many that you may see; it consists of just two characters, Rita and Frank, her Open University teacher. There is also just the one set, Frank’s book lined study.
Middle school has prepared me for high school and beyond in many ways. The teachers don’t take excuses as much as in elementary school or 6th and 7th grade. They will give you a zero if you don’t turn in your homework, which helps you in the future because no one is going to sit around and cater to you and allow you to take everything as a joke. School shouldn’t be any different. They also show you how you might use different things in the future.
Now its like you cant get me to shut up. But high school for me couldnt be over fast enough. I didnt really like it. I like my teachers and some of my classes but as a school itself, I dont care for it. During my sophmore and junior year we had practice ACT and PSAT.
Single Sex Schools Compared to Coeducational Schools While parents are sending their children off to school, no matter what grade they are in wither it be elementary, junior high, or high school, they expect that their children will receive the best education they can get. They should be acted imposing questions, encouraged to participate in class, and should also be given as much help as needed to succeed by the teacher. However, this is most commonly not the case. Gender bias is not a noisy problem so parents and the children themselves are unaware of what is really going on in the classroom. Although boys and girls are taught together, should classrooms be separate due to the lack of female education compared to males?
