My Thoughts: No Matter How Loud I Shout No Matter How Loud I Shout, written by author Edward Humes, illustrates the power of juvenile justice in reflection to adolescent children, allowing the reader to see the unjust situations that can be done in court. For example, George Trevino, a young boy that was seeking a more stable setting, having been denied as a dependent of the court when charged with felony assault. Trevino’s need was disregarded, and because of his crime he was taken out from his foster-care and lost all of his psychological counseling. This I think was the exact opposite of what he really needed. His necessities as a young boy were replaced by his situation as a criminal, causing him to be more hurt as a child and to more likely follow in criminal behavior.

Everyday many kids get physically and emotionally hurt. Some of the students step in while others look away. The first year of high school is one of the hardest years of a young boy’s life. I watched a freshmen boy being bullied throughout the year, whether he was being made fun of because of his size or being pushed around by the older stronger boys. Every time after having his books knocked out of his hands or being pushed against the lockers one could see the hurt he was going through.
It changes towards your life, your family and towards the society. Once you’re older you have more time on your hands, and you start to think a lot, you think about your life and how you lived you. Sometimes it changes to be negative and sometimes positive. If a person turns old and regrets a lot of things they may have done in their life, they might feel negative towards everything. If a old person doesn’t have a family or is in a lot of pain their attitude towards life would be negative and maybe feeling suicidal.
Zero Tolerance In the article entitled “No Mercy,” Malcolm Gladwell writes on the zero tolerance policies in our schools. The essay is an argument against zero-tolerance and a return for discretionary justice. He gives different examples to identify his position such as a Cambridge University student that attempted to poison his tutor, and a football quarterback that was cut from the team for being overpaid on his job. The author’s main point is whether zero tolerance policy is appropriate when disciplining students in the school system. Gladwell’s argument draws your attention to the fact that at some point in life children will be children and make stupid mistakes.
