Second, Castro was a charismatic communist and the US government feared that communism would spread. The United Stated wanted to create a new non-communist Cuba with a new leader and a new government that was friendly to them. Their goal was to overthrow Castro and his regime. The USSR and the US were the two super powers at the time and were competing in nearly everything during this period of time. The USSR was helping Cuba.
Also the mafia couldn’t have gotten away with the job by itself so this theory doesn’t explain why the government covered it up. Possibly theory’s to the cover up have been: that the mafia black-mailed the government or in exchange for the cover up they would kill Castro. Castro’s Cuba Another popular theory is that Fidel Castro killed Kennedy by hiring Oswald. The motive for would have been that the CIA supported the mafia in their attempt to kill Castro and Castro said to JFK that his attempts would back fire on him. Faults in this theory is that as point out by Castro in 1991 is that ever since the Missile Crisis himself and John Kennedy had been improving relations and that if they had killed JFK Cuba would have suffered too much.
This contributed to the Nazi’s being so successful in controlling society as there was no one else that could help the people. The people on their own might want to rebel against Nazi rule, but without one leader to unite them, they had no power. This made the Nazis much stronger, and they eliminated all other competitors for power. Thirdly, fear was a major factor that Hitler used very effectively. Agencies like the SA, SS, and the Gestapo could arrest anyone that they found “suspicious”, and Nazi judges made it impossible for people to receive a fair trial.
Propaganda was very important in the Nazi’s maintaining their power once they won the election in 1933. In the Nazis campaigns previous to them gaining power, they had exploited all the media they could in order to appeal to the public. Hitler’s speeches were played on the radio, his beliefs were written about in Nazi newspapers and magazines and posters containing horrific propaganda were placed everywhere. The public were bombarded with so much powerful propaganda that it could be argued that it would be almost impossible for them not to become attracted to the Nazi party in some way. This propaganda continued even once they had won the election.
• Gave Nazi’s the opportunity to say that Germany was in danger from the communists during election campaign. Overall this helped them in winning more seats in election. March 1933 Elections are held and Nazi party wins 44% of votes This win did not give hi majority in the Reichstag, but it did allow him to get the Enabling Act passed. March 1933 Enabling act is passed in the Reichstag which gives the right to Hitler to make his own laws. A very critical event, Hitler attained absolute power after this act was passed.
Of these captured rebels most of the leaders were put on show trials in Havana and executed and the rest were returned for $53 million in food and drugs from the United States (1). On December 29, 1962 a ceremony was held at the Orange Bowl for the returned exiles in which Kennedy promised that the exiles flag would someday fly over Havana and so far 48 years later it hasn’t happened (1). This disaster instead of destroying Kennedy led to his greatest triumph for which he is remembered: the Cuban Missile Crisis. After the failed invasion, the Soviet Union decided to protect Castro it would park intermediate range nuclear missile in Castro backyard within range of any US city. After the US discovered the presence of the missiles the US issued a naval quarantine of Cuba.
In my opinion the Reichstag fire was one of the most important underlying factor that helped Hitler establish a dictatorship as it allowed Hitler to end communism and remove most of his opposition and therefore increasing the amount of votes on election day in his favour. The fire set off a chain of events which helped Hitler gaining power in his favour. Without the Reichstag fire the enabling act would not have passed which was another significant factor that contributed to him establishing a dictatorship The enabling act was another contributing factor that created a dictatorship in Germany. The act would give Hitler the power to pass laws without going through the Reichstag or the president. In order to achieve this
Though Kennedy was a young president he was one of very few presidents to show concern towards racial inequality. As he led the nation with hopes of equality, freedom, morals, and principles the hopes of Americans died with Mr. Kennedy. Americans during the 1960 election saw Kennedy as a young influential president, especially towards the subject of racial inequality. President Kennedy publicly committed his administration to the cause of racial equality in the summer of 1963 when he proposed the Civil Rights bill to Congress and offered his endorsement to the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The assassination shocked America and soon after led to counterculture and rebellious teenagers during the late sixties early seventies.
Since the propaganda became a no brainer to many Americans, Citizens immediately began to apply in the army. This event lead to a drastic turn in the war, as the Allied powers were losing the war. The U.S. began to win battles, the Allied powers began to gain the upper hand on Axis powers. After years of war, the U.S. finally avenged Japan by dropping the first atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Japan. Then dropping the second atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan, leading to Japan's
Each individual nation had its own plan on how to get back on track but none of them were necessarily similar. In the United States, President Roosevelt had implemented the “New Deal”. This “deal” wasn’t as successful as the U.S. originally expected it to be but it had all the parts that would correctly get us, Americans, to fully recover and prevent any further depressions. Countries such as Germany, Britain and Japan simply took it day by day and didn’t necessarily establish a “deal”. In Germany, Hitler took over and he eventually made one of the strongest army’s in the world as well as providing more jobs almost instantly.
