“"Fascism" was the ideology of the movement that, under the leadership of Benito Mussolini, seized power in Italy in 1922 and held power until the Allied invasion of Italy in World War II” 18. “An attempt to provide fascism with a fully articulated theory was made by an Italian neo-Hegelian philosopher of some distinction, Giovanni Gentile, who was converted to fascism after Mussolini's coup.” 19. “But fascism equally opposed socialism, which preached class war and trade unionism and thus served only to divide the nation” 20. “Revolutionized society in such a way that the socialist critique was no longer relevant” 21. “Fascism's debts to the more extreme and fanatic elements of the nineteenth-century left wing” 22.
Stoker's model was Vlad III Dracula (called Tepes, pronounced tse-pesh); a fifteenth century viovode, or prince, of Wallachia of the princely House of Basarab. Wallachia is a provence of Romania bordered to the north by Transylvania and Moldavia, to the east by the Black Sea and to the south by Bulgaria. Wallachia first emerged as a political entity during the late thirteenth century from the weltering confusion left behind in the Balkans
From 1974 to 1989, Kosovo enjoyed a special status as an autonomous province in Serbia, and the Kosovo government was run by Albanians. (Allen, 1999) In the 1980’s extensive autonomy given to Kosovo Albanians was abused by them as they tried to cleanse the region of non-Albanians. ( Srpska-Mreza, 2004). As a product of the political climate Milosevic rose to power with a throw away remark in Kosovo in 1987 that Serbs would never again be beaten and almost accidentally tapped into a vain of destructive nationalism which eventually guaranteed the dismemberment of Yugoslavia. (The Herald, 2006) In 1989 President Milosevic stripped Kosovo of its autonomy.
As was common at the time, he travelled in an open topped car. Exactly one month following the assassination, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. The war divided Europe into two armed camps - on one side was the Triple Alliance made up of Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy, and their enemy was the Triple Entente of France, Russia and Great Britain. As other countries began to join sides, the Triple Alliance became known as the Central Powers and the Triple Entente became the Allied Forces. The United States attempted to remain neutral and was a proponent for the rights of neutral states.
The progress of the empire was explosive. In 1453, the Sultan Mohamad II conquered Constantinople (renamed Istanbul) putting an end to the Eastern Roman Empire. The Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent conquered modern Yugoslavia in 1521, and conquered Hungary after his victory at the battle of Mohacs in 1526. However, he failed to take Vienna after winter forced an end to his siege in 1529. The Ottomans went on to take Transylvania and Wallachia as well.

Ovid followed more or less Virgil's epic about Aeneas after the Trojan War. Ovid only give a brief sketch of Aeneas voyage to Italy and the war against the Latins; all this take place in Book 14 of the Metamorphoses. I will cover this legend, shortly, but in this introduction I would like us to look at the various legends of his survival. According to classical mythology, Aeneas was the son of Anchises. His mother was the Greek goddess Aphrodite or
World War II The Nazi recovery began as a result of changes in the Nationalist Party (DNVP) after its takeover by Alfred Hugenberg. Hugenburg attempted to bring the government down by organizing a right-wing front, including the Nazis. Their denunciation of the Versailles Treaty as the source of Germany’s troubles gained then popular support as the depression and panic spread. The economic catastrophe brought the Nazis strong support from groups that would not usually have voted for them, including workers and women. The outcome of the 1930 elections was a turning point in the destruction of the Weimar Republic.
Capitalism and culture in post-communist Czechslovakia and the Czech Republic: the other side of the coin “Toute création culturelle est à la fois un phénomène individuel et social et s'insère dans les structures constituées par la personnalité du créateur et le groupe social dans lequel ont été élaborés les catégories mentales qui la structurent.” - Lucien Goldmann After “a time of comprehensive interference in the arts” , starting from the Nazi occupation of Czechslovakia in March 1939 and ending fifty years later with the fall of the Communist regime, the democratic transition and the liberalization of the Czech society redefined the interaction between culture and society. The scale of the crackdown on culture during the period of normalization and the speed at which the regime was overthrown during the Velvet Revolution were such that the switch to a liberal, capitalistic society was always going to have far-reaching consequences on cultural production. Although the situation in the post-communist era suggests a liberation of culture, it is important to show that the capitalistic context of modern society perverts and fundamentally redefines the very nature of artistic creation. Capitalism, with its negative effects, ends up being a diktat of its own, albeit a more subtle one. We will limit our analysis to the field of literary art, including literature, theatre, and film (the latter is considered a literary art, as its etymology suggests, the word cinematography being derived from the Greek kinema, movement, and graphein, to write).
