Around eleven, we usually took twenty-five minutes lunch break and if you are lucky enough and you live very close to the school you can go home and get your lunch. After lunch, I either had a music or art class. My last class was social studies or history. By
Around 6 hours. Look at these hours and compare then to our school day. We have 7 hours of school, and at the very most 1 or 2 hours of homework. How can we say they are lazy when they don’t even have to time to be lazy? They run around and work from dawn until dusk, doing school work for 19 hours straight.
Embedded Assessment Unit 2 Kyle Sullivan Period 4 L.A. 3/24/15 Are your kids coming home with a bunch load of homework? Yes, well I agree with you I’m in 7th grade and come home with a bunch of homework and it needs to stop. Kids should have less homework because we have seven hours of school, which means less family time, fun time and causes a lot of stress. We should have less homework because we have seven-hours of school five days a week but we have two months of break which is summer. On an online debate website, a student speaks out about thru experiences with homework communicating.” We kids nowadays have a lot of stuff to do.
Ian Brown Mr. Moran English I - Honors 12 March 2012 Year-Round Schooling Pro Rebuttal The issue of having year-round school in America or not has been going around for decades. This system is practiced throughout the world with the huge exception of many of our schools. Some claim that it doesn’t make a difference to a child’s scores, but spending more time in the classroom, with shorter but often breaks, can keep their mind refreshed. Even U.S. President Barack Obama stated that the hardships and new challenges in this emerging century “demand more time in the classroom.” Some opponents of this system say that our summer vacation is the perfect time to have a full time-off and that you won’t lose much of what you learned the previous school year. In fact, according to a study at the University of Missouri, they found that many students forgot over two and one-half months of whatever their grade-level equivalency is in mathematics.
Every morning I wake up at 6am to get ready for work at 8am. Now my job is about an 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes away, which only leaves me with 30 minutes to get ready. The first thing I do when I wake up is brush my teeth, then get into the shower for 5 to 10 minutes then I get dressed. The thing that really slows me down in the morning is putting on my makeup. I try to spend only 5 minutes doing my makeup, but I sometimes go overboard and at times it takes me at least 20 minutes to get my makeup done.
There many different between Chinese school and American school. First, we talk about the schedule. A Chinese school day is much longer than an American school day. While American students usually attend school for about seven hours each schoolday that they come school at 7:30 and leave school in 2:00 p.m. For example, in high school, Chinese student begin school at 7:00a.m., and remain until 8:20p.m. The seniors, prepar for their final examinations, stay later even until 10:00 at night.
A couple of the things I noticed were the differences in the scheduling and rules and attitudes, responsibility on my part, and the work load. In high school, we were required to be at school by a certain time of the morning and once you arrived you were there for the day having seven or eight classes with a thirty minute lunch break. In college you have more freedom with your class schedule. Some students may have a class at eight in the morning and then not have another one until two that afternoon. Others may only have class two or three days a week, depending on how they arrange their schedule.
Multiculturalism: Who Says What is Important? As a junior in high school, a close friend and I sat in our history class wondering where all the diversity was throughout history. As the school year passed by, Black History Month came about, revealing where the rest of the history had gone. It was saved to seemingly be crammed into the shortest month, also the only month which is modifiable every four years. As the school day ended one Friday in February, we arrived at church the following Sunday only to be questioned of our knowledge.
According to the Canadian BC curriculum for grade eight, students should know how to calculate the surface area of a prism; This is hard for us to believe because this is what we studied in grade three or even earlier. At the same age, we are working day and night in order to solve the functional relationships between two moving points on a complex graph. Again, most of students in the USA are at school at 8:00, and go home at 15:00. However, most of students in China are at school at 7:00, and go home at 18:00(at least). And I want to tell a truth about me, and maybe lots of students are like me.
The Boys & Girls Club ran several different sports programs so I was always there. One year a month or so before summer I was about fifteen (15). The Director made an announcement that they will be hiring a teen to run the lunch program for the summer. At that time the opportunity seemed perfect, but the only problem was that I wasn’t the only person interested. ---What should I do---- Later on day all I could think about was how could I get that job.
