If one’s religion is not harming another, that person should have the right to do what makes them most happy. And the second most important rule of the Catholic Church is to love your neighbour as yourself. That means to love your neighbour despite what religion, or race, or lifestyle they choose to lead. And many times people seem to have forgotten that this rule is still in place; there should not be “exceptions” because one does not choose to adhere to the same belief system. A man whom takes care of his family, pays his taxes, and does well by those around him is no less of a human if that man then chooses to openly practise Judaism than a man whom would do the same, and practise Christianity instead.
Her use of “good” is bias since she states he is not common. In the end, the grandmother’s classification of “good man” states that “good” doesn’t imply “moral” or “courteous”. For her, a man is a “good man” if his values are coordinated with her own. Red Sammy is “good” because he trusts people at random and greatly remembers more innocent times with which the grandmother also remembers. The Misfit is “good” because she believes he wouldn’t shoot a lady.
The story of the hero is told to rejoice in valor. The story of the saint is told to celebrate faith. (Wells, S. 2004 Improvisation p43.) After listening to both lectures, my understanding of these terms are ; Saints do what we won’t want to do; deny themselves, fight their natural urges and live in adversity rather than conquering it. Saints are almost always formed in marginalized situations where their best gifts are dismissed or unrecognized and this causes them to do what the situation demands of them by faith and patience.
“Life is defined by the bittersweet moments that take our breath away”. This quote has always seemed to be the main focus when looking back upon one’s life, view the good and not the bad. After reading Viktor Frankls, “Mans search for meaning”, it gave me an entire new perspective of the human mind and how a person might look upon their life. The struggles that Viktor described in his book and how they affected the inmates was nothing less of terrifying. Viktor’s accounts are not only a good mark in history, but in viewing the human condition.
He further explains that the evil deeds that we perform are of our own accord, and that we are punished by God’s justice because they are done out of our own free will. This argument leads perfectly into the question of free will because, like Aug, I agree that we are not taught evil. Aug explains to Ev that it is impossible to learn evil deeds. It is impossible to learn something evil because our intelligence is inherently good. Since our intelligence is inherently good it is not possible to take away from something that is good, something that is evil.
(Job 4:17). Here Eliphaz stresses the idea that humans can’t be just. God is too superior, so that in comparison humans are not capable of being just and cannot be pure. Eliphaz also says to Job that “as I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same” (Job 4:8) This simply states the theology of the friends that good comes from good and bad from bad. Bildad words to Job are in same vein “ God will not reject a blameless person, nor take the hand of the evil doer” (Job 8:20) and Zophar agrees that God punishes the wicked and rewards the righteous (Job 11; Job 20).
However, DCT defines morality and a god’s command is needed when distinguishing the value of the moral actions because the value of good can be taken in any form and not all uses of the term ‘good’ would lead to a moral action. Likewise, it would not be immoral if one makes a bad decision in career paths like to not play rugby for a career even when the chances of making the All Blacks is highly possible, for there is no act of evil in the wasting of talent. This interpretation difference in ‘good’ and ‘bad’
God faring people accept the teachings of God and the best way to live. Euthyphro dilemma was “Is conduct right because the gods command it, or do the gods command it because it is right” (Rachel’s and 50-53)? The problem with this dilemma is that God is always right and what isn’t right is wrong according to God. Which makes Euthyphro confused because he isn’t sure anymore what is right and what is wrong. The concept of morality is mysterious is saying that just because god says its right to slap a child doesn’t really make it right.
Seniors who are strong enough to live on their own but not enough to perform certain household chores may be in need of in home senior care services. Most elderly individuals prefer to stay in a familiar environment for as long as they can because like most of us, they treasure their independence. This is why it is much easier for them to accept the idea of senior home care than nursing homes. Through some help from a home care provider, seniors can be easily kept in good condition making it possible for them to preserve their dignity and independence. The cost of in home senior care services is also often less than that of full time nursing homes.
Byelinkov is not the type of person to take praise very well while Varinka is willing to give him all he needs. All of these show what kind of persons Byelinkov and Varinka are, it shows how they over compensate each other’s personalities. Byelinkov says that “Pride can be an imperfect value”(981) While Varinka responds with “It isn’t pride. It’s the truth. You are a great man.” Varinka kisses Byelinkov and is still happy that she can call herself his wife.
