My employment history throughout my life has seen me in this role, working to make a difference. Helping people navigate their way through their problems and find personal resolve, giving people the tools needed for self development - from the most basic of personal care skills to supporting individuals to convey their needs, wants and future goals to other people such as their support team, family members, and professional agencies. Individuals self development is what inspires me; aiding people to find their skills, motivation, self-esteem and willpower, to set their own goals, to keep dreaming, and to find it within themselves to accept changes and success in their life is something that drives me. I have a strong emotional need to help others and so I would say that I gain an emotional reward out of doing so. Helping others gives me a wonderful sense of satisfaction, an inner pleasure to see how I can help people overcome their conflicts, that good feeling.

All of these parties are interested in improving the individual’s performance and therefore their contribution to the organisation. Most facilitated mentoring programmes have a formal process which defines each step and audits the ongoing success of the program.
