But is this true? As we can truly say, nutritionism is not actually benefiting society in general because it lacks real food, it’s more expensive, and causes many diseases; however, nutritionism can be very successful for the world of business of industries. When we talk about real food, it means recognizable, good quality, whole food that rots when it's kept for too long. These foods are the ones our ancestors used to eat on a regular basis until it was replaced with a whole new type of nutrition one, in which chemically-infused, food- like materials focused mainly on nutritional facts. For example, when we go in the supermarket to buy food we read the facts in the back of the product checking what types nutrition it has, and how much it has.

Good healthful diets enable people to work productively and feel their very best very day. All food dairy or journal of consumed food will always allow an individual to truly understand which food group that may provide a good healthy fat content as well as minerals and vitamins. Social learning theory According to this theory, we need to have a good role model in our life, so that we can learn good behaviours from them. For people who want to eat healthy and be healthy, celebrity such as, Jamie Oliver would be a very good role model, because he teach people to eat healthy to have a healthy life. He also brought lots of publicity to the healthy eating campaign. If someone eats junk food all the time and that person’s mother or friend told him/her to eat healthy, it’s less likely that he/she will listen to them, but if he/she admires Jamie Oliver and he suggests to eat healthy, then there is more possibility for that person to follow what he says.
Like Pollan pointed out in one of his chapters, fast-food is bad for our health and for us in general. The food pyramid might sound healthy since there are commercials and doctors that follow the food pyramid but
You still got all the nutrients and vitamins from foods that are not local. Plus they still taste good. If our community were to start a locavore movement it would affect everyone because we would have to make more space for crops and farmers. Also farmers from around the world would also have fewer costumers. As Source C shows, it actually takes just as much fuel—and thus, just as much pollution—to ship a small load from a local farm as to ship a large load from a farther location.
My well philosophy talks about having a clean mind, body and soul so in order for me to be moving toward achieving this goal I would need to make sure that I am feeding my body with food that is nutrient. What my current eating habits were and what they are now that the semester is near a close is night and day different. I went from going out and eating fast food whenever I was hungry, to instead now I take the time to pack either some food so that if I feel I am hungry and I want to eat but I do have nutritious choices at my disposal. What my eating habits were like before the semesters were that if I was hungry I was just go and get some fast food from the closet
It is ultimately up to the consumer to make the decision of what to put into their bodies. Without a healthy alternative, little to no nutritional information, and the ease and convenience of fast food why would we choose anything else? The fact is that we have been conditioned as children to eat fast food. We also see the ease of a drive trough and think of it as a great convenience to the alternative of cooking for you at home. American’s are always on the go and fast food corporations have exploited that fact to the extreme.
Parents are the ultimate authority when it comes down to what their children eat. Of course they can’t all always see what their children eat, but if they teach them healthy eating habits they’re less likely to go for the wrong food choice. (junk food) “encourage these kinds of simple polices in the home, they might make some progress against the purveyors of fat food and cholesterol.” (Wientraub paragraph 6) Parents tell their children what to eat from birth they might as well teach them healthy eating habits. Exercise should be an essential part of life. Parents should teach their children good exercise habits as well.
It is obvious that when people pay money for something they buy, they want to know what exactly things are (such as nutrition percentage or calories content). The foods we eat are particularly related to people’s health. Second, genetically modified food can unexpectedly transform some components into different ones and cause allergies in some people. To illustrate, genes that were changed in genetically modified foods may contain strange substances that produce allergic reactions for purchasers. For example, tomatoes are injected with fish gene to make a new product with better quality because the components in fish can protect fruit from freezing.
My Fitness and Nutritional Habits Before beginning this class, my fitness and nutritional habits were horrible. I mainly ate fast foods and never found time for fitness. However, since beginning the class, I am finding time for fitness and I watch what I eat. The changes had made a significant difference. I feel better and am losing weight as well.
