After a hard day of work most people want a quick and easy dinner so they automatically think of eating out for the night. There are some who do blame Taco Bell and McDonalds because of their high fat foods. Parents are the ones responsible for what their kids eat in my eyes. They can help their family and themselves by bringing home more healthier food and "accept their role in fighting the problem"(Weintraub 11). When a family goes out to eat out at McDonalds, they buy meals that are extremely over portioned or "meals that can easily make up to half of their recommended daily intake of calories"(Brownlee 1).
In order to be healthier, we can get rid things like Rockstar, and buy less soda. We can also get rid of some our microwavable foods and junk foods. Even with all the junk food and microwavable foods that we have, our refrigerator is full of vegetables and food that is organic. Since my mom doesn’t work, and my dad does, we don’t really have to worry about not expecting dinner to be ready at night since she’s not really all that busy. We get a hot meal every night that my mom cooks for us, and it’s not just microwave this and that, it’s something that is prepared over the stove.
What Is Cystic Fibrosis? At lunch, Lindsay often gets bored with having the same old conversation with her friends: "You're so lucky!" "Yeah, I'd give anything to be able to eat as much as you do and be so skinny!" "Cheeseburgers or mac and cheese every day — that would be great." Lindsay is one of about 30,000 people living with cystic fibrosis (CF) in the United States, and she has to eat high-fat, high-calorie foods just to stay healthy.
Although many people may not like natural food because it do not have not flavor, natural food does provide enough nutrients, so people can have more energy in their daily life performance. For instance, when I eat homemade food, I have sufficient energy to be able to study, play soccer, and go to work. Therefore, I enjoy more to eat homemade food than eating processing food. Pollen believes Cooking is one of the most important health consequences of buying food from local farmers” (Pollen539) I agree, because I feel so different when I do not eat homemade food. As a result, eating homemade food with natural ingredients, it would help me out to do better of my daily activities.
Brody Janusz VanSickle ENG 151 11/5/14 McHenry County School Lunches Needs Change Eating highly fatty and unhealthy foods for lunch doesn’t seem like the most appropriate way to go about your eating habits, but according to the majority of McHenry County public school lunches it is perfectly acceptable. There is clearly a problem when fried food items and questionable “meat” come before fruit and vegetables in student’s lunch options, which are specifically designed to hold a good nutritional value. Instead of supplying students with pizza, bosco sticks, chicken by-products, these should be replaced with organic goods that consist of high counts of protein and vitamins that are recommended for a healthy lifestyle. The school lunches in
This responsibility also needs to be the leading factor in the lawsuits that are being filed against fast food companies because of childhood obesity. We are all aware of the health risks associated with eating these kind of meals and although children are left with little choice at times as to what to prepare themselves for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there are healthier alternatives for preparing meals which are also cheaper to purchase than fast food. With all the information available on the Internet, brochures at fast food restaurants and other nutrition tips at these establishments we need to hold ourselves responsible for our health and stop blaming the fast food
I agree with Zinczenko on his critical viewpoint on how he looks at the fast food industry. Fast food is part of the blame because most of them are not healthy and are bad for consumers. The calories of a Big Mac, medium fry, and a medium Coke are almost equivalent to the daily intake of these industry’s consumers. Zinczenko uses the analogy of a simple salad we would assume is healthy. Our fast food industry needs to provide these nutritional facts in easy reach for their customers.
I can see the concern, but I have also had lunch at school with my kids and seen the reality. One of the main reasons behind these changes to school food regulations is to promote healthy eating habits in school age children. The reality is that children do not eat their food, and they throw it away. Parents, who visit their children during lunch, take in fast food for them to eat. At the end of the day, the child is hungry, and most parents stop by the favorite fast food to get dinner as part of their busy lives.
Both private and publicly owned institutions that have not kept the public sufficiently educated on the dangers of eating the products they serve or produce; these companies have made millions of dollars on the sales of fast food, junk food, and sugar drinks. As a nation we should be stressing physical activity in home and at school, however, recess is being systematically eliminated, while games and sports equipment is being sacrificed for other costs. The fast food industry has done a wonderful job in making children want fast food and convincing parents that fast food meals are a nutritious alternative to cooking meals at home and they are quick, easy, and affordable. “Advertisements often portray unhealthy eating messages to children. As many commercials are for fast food, soft drinks, and cereals sweetened with sugar, one could argue that children are encouraged by the media to consume high fat, energy dense food” (Ebbeling, Pawlak, & Ludwig, 2002).
What about the greasy pizza your brother ordered that you've been looking forward to all week? You can't have because you need to lose weight. These things could happen to you if you don't live a healthy enough life. It's okay to sit around and be lazy sometimes, but not all the time. Just like it's okay for us to eat all of our favorite sweet or greasy foods, just not constantly.
