Although, I have been eating healthier, they are still far from perfect. The other difference is that I do exercise daily. I do try to eat healthy everyday, and let me tell you it’s very easy to go the McDonalds route. I tried to starve myself for long periods without any food consumption. That was not a good thing to do because it affected my metabolism and energy.

Watching what you eat and knowing what is and is not healthy for you. I tried to eat salads and chicken sandwiches when I would eat out, but sometimes the dressing for the salad is more unhealthy than I realized. It is also very hard for me to not eat out because of going to school, so I am still working on solutions for that problem. Although there were not many improvements this week I still did better than last week and everyone has got to start somewhere. It is also an obstacle for me to not drink pop.
I look at the back of the packaging to see how much a serving is and that is all I will take. Sometimes it is hard to only take a few chips. I will have water or vitamin water with my lunch. Dinners are now home cooked. I try to eat lean red meat only one or two times a week.

However, I did meet a couple of the food group targets in other categories. This is a comparison of the each food group’s target recommendation to what I consumed. Grains daily target is 6 ounces and my average eaten was 6 ounces, Vegetables daily target is 2 ½ cups and my average eaten was 1 ¼ cups, Fruits daily target is 1 ½ cups and my average eaten was ½ cups, Dairy daily target is 3 cups and my average eaten was 1 cup, Protein Foods daily
Compared to my previous one day food intake of 5600 calories this three day diet is noticeably better. My diet included protein which came from the meats I ate, turkey and beef. The carbohydrates came from the bread in my sandwiches, the pasta in the lasagna, and the oatmeal for breakfast. The lipids, or fats that I consumed were included in all the meats and breads that I consumed. My intake of all the nutrients was within the limits of the average comparison except I was a little low on my proteins by 5 grams and carbohydrates were low by over 100 grams.
Unfortunately, thanks to the nutritional content of fast and processed foods, this generally means higher amounts of saturated fat. I eat out alot due to my busy schedule.
