Task A Ai Physical Abuse: Physical abuse is abuse involving bodily contact intended to cause feelings of intimidation, injury, or other physical suffering. Sexual Abuse: The forcing of unwanted sexual activity by one person on another, as by the use of threats or coercion. Emotional/ psychological Abuse: Psychological abuse is a form of abuse where a person is subjected or exposed to another’s behaviour. This behaviour causes the abuse by verbal aggression, dominant behaviours or jealous behaviours. Financial Abuse: Financial abuse is illegal or unauthorized use of a person’s property, money, pension book or other valuables (including changing the person's will to name the abuser as heir). Institutional Abuse: Institutional abuse is where the setting is the abuser. This mostly occurs in a care setting or hospital where the person has little or no choice and treated the same regardless of their needs or diagnosis. For example every one eating the same at set times. Self neglect: Self neglect is when an individual neglects to attend to their basic needs, such as personal hygiene, appropriate clothing, feeding, or tending appropriately to any medical conditions they have. Neglect by others: Neglect is a form of abuse in which a person is responsible to provide care for another who is unable to care for themselves but fails to provide adequate care. Neglect may include the failure to provide sufficient supervision, nourishment, or medical care, or the failure to fulfill other needs for which the person is helpless to provide for themselves. Aii Signs and symptoms: Physical Abuse: Bruising, swelling, lack of confidence, change in behavior, cowering or flinching, person becoming withdrawn, pressure marks, disruptive behavior.
