Many people have hazards in their lives; mine just happens to be that I have a learning disability, which I’ve had since I was in kindergarten. My teacher had noticed that I was having problems pronouncing certain words correctly, such as car, rabbit, and wagon I would leave a letter off like the letter R in car I would say ca instead or I would add a letter like W to rabbit and drop the R so it would come out as wabbit. Once I was done with speech therapy, there was something else wrong that my teacher also noticed & informed my parents that I had a learning disability. This led them to decide to put me in special Ed classes. I had a hard time reading, spelling, writing full on sentences, and paragraphs. My learning disability affects me in many ways such as; reading, spelling & writing. For example: I have a hard time reading a book that has big vocabulary words. Also spelling is hard for me because I can’t visualize certain words in my mind even if I have studied for a spelling test for days. Another is my writing not knowing how to start a sentence when doing an essay. These are things I deal with everyday. By using technology I’ve improved my reading, spelling, and writing. For example: If I need or want to read a book I can get it on audiobooks or an e-book that reads to me & I follow along. Another example is with my spelling I can now looking up a word on my iPhone that has dictionary App. that I can talk into with the help of Dragon
