The introduction of computers to our family life helps us come together and spend more quality time together. The list can go on, but with all these opportunities we have, we also lose a lot. We lose privacy and security. There are also some greater drawbacks when it comes to the net, like Internet related crimes. My mom and dad both conduct business at home, and I do all my school assignments.
(Martin 1)Teachers and other administrators are also finding that middle school kids are carrying attitudes of invincibility. The way that some talk online is completely different from reality, they are “tough” behind a keyboard, but without being taught respect, and the skills to have an educated conversation, we are doing nothing but a disservice to our children. If a child has been trained to occupy their time on the internet when mom or dad is busy instead of going outside and making friends,
All children want to do now a day is play games rather than going out for sports activities and this also makes them lazy. This can also lead to important consequences concerning health such as eye strain leads to short sight, backache, mental sickness, obsession or even addiction. Also, too much computer games makes kids socially isolated, they become arrogant, careless about all the other activities and their grades, they don’t interact with their family and friends and that changes other’s opinions about them. Studies have showed that the more time a kid spends playing games, the poorer is his performance at school. Games can confuse reality and fantasy, kids may get too involved in the game or influenced by it that they start mixing up reality with fantasy, this damages their control over their minds, they start to become slaves of the computer games and
Students sometimes become so dependent upon technology that they are not exposed to the traditional ways of learning. Because some students might rely on technology in every area of learning, they might never experience what it is like to visit a library or read a printed textbook, especially since so many books can be purchased on audio now. Other disadvantages are that students’ handwriting skills might suffer due to a lack of practice because of their use of the computer to always write reports and essays. Always relying on the computer to find and correct errors while creating documents can result in students having very poor progress in grammar and spelling skills. Because many students also rely on the computer’s calculator, their ability to learn the proper methods of solving math problems might not be as enhanced.
The youngsters, thus, mostly go home and sit in front of a TV, search web or play computer games. This is not only wasting their time, but detrimental to their health as lacking of physical activities. By working for charitable or community organizations, students are encouraged to do something more creative and participate in more outdoor activities which provide many benefits to both mental and physical health. Beside, the skills gained through these works will not be only important for them to draw on in their later life, but also a valuable asset on the CV which can increase their employability. Another equally important reason is that volunteering can help to increase students' self-confidence, self-esteem and life satisfaction.
Ruth Guzman Comparison and Contrast Laptop vs. Desktop Computer These days computers have become very popular and important in every day life. There are more and more people who have their own computers. Nevertheless some people easily get confused when deciding to buy a computer, how does one know which is better, a laptop or a desktop computer? There are some similarities as well as some very big differences between the two type of computer that you might want to consider when choosing one.
It doesn’t let us give it our 100% focus on a task we’re currently doing and it intertwines with our actions too. Most students use their devices whenever they want to or feel like it and when they do they’re taking time away from learning something form the teacher. They can’t help it because this obsession slowly turns into something they can’t stop because they have became so close and attached to and they can’t see or imagine their lives without it. These “Luxury Devices” make our lives easier in the way that we have to do less but it hurting us in the way that we’re lazy and we won’t be able to learn like our parents and ancestors did. It’s also keeping us form thinking thoroughly we sometimes can find it easier to just maybe “copy and paste” rather than using our brains and actually trying to think for at least once in our life.
I am one who does think that I really do dependence on computers and know that I’m not the only one that knows that others are or do depend on computers also and know that people needing computers are growing. electronics are bases on our everday life and I think that our world would crumble because of the very things that we depend on to use these computers. We regulate our lives everyday and I think that we use computers in places like hospitals, to work on cars, airplanes, to create movies, cell phone, tablets, notebooks and so on and so forward . Now in this centry we have them everywhere on everything just in a different style of the set ups. I also think that computers are the definition of control over our civilization, that if we were to lose computers then we would not be able to survive our society would now be so crazy and would break down.
In comparing both learning in the classroom versus online there are many difference s and similarities in skills/learning development and socializing; both having their own positive and negative impacts on students. When asking students and conducting research on the topic I found there to be a lot of opinions on the benefits of online learning. Some of the benefits of online learning can include solutions to scheduling conflicts, enhancement and expanding of skills pertaining to digital learning and extra time to complete projects, giving the students a less chance of dropping out (Metz, 2010). Aside from these benefits students online are able to socialize with international students they would most likely not get the chance to communicate with in the traditional classroom setting. This can be intriguing to students who want to learn more from other cultures.
By:Holly C. Wilkes Causes of Cheating and Procrastination Education is important and is a way for kids, young adults, and adults to develop a career to support themselves and their families. So, why are so many people procrastinating and cheating? Many students lose out on a good education from causes such as stress, procrastination, depression, poor study skills and easy access to the web. Procrastination and Internet are the main causes of cheating.
