In Flores’s mind Salem Data Services could serve as competition with other computer service organizations while having non-regulatory prices. The only way for this idea to come to fruition was by making sure the monthly charges for services provided by Salem Data Services to Salem Telephone Company did not exceed the $82,000 mark. Through all of the reassessment of business for the company, three years after the reorganization, the company still was not as profitable as president Peter Flores estimated. Once the quarterly reports came in Flores called the meeting with Wu because the reports served as evidence as to how and why Salem Data Services was not driving high revenues. 1.

The primary customers of KR+H cabinetry are those who want to optimize the amount of useable space in their homes that stock cabinets cannot provide. The industry in 1992 was comprised of 61% stock cabinetry, and custom cabinets similar to those produced by KR+H comprised of only 20%. This is down from 26% in 1989 resultant from poor economic conditions between 1989 and 1992. KR+H uses a direct sale to consumer approach that only accounted for 2% of total industry sales. Industry sales by use of cabinet dealers and distributors contributed for 31% and 30% respectively.

Building on that belief, the management team of the sales department of InterClean believes we have hired the right people to take this company from good to great. However, new application requests and claiming would adversely be affected. It’s disheartening to know that when I approach retirement and if the government is in shutdown the benefits to which I’m entitled can be delayed. “In the 1995 government shutdown, Social Security eventually recalled more employees to help with the backlog of new applications as the stoppage dragged on.” The reality of this possibility came to light during the recent government shutdown and caused me to reevaluate my long term financial plans. (Parker, 2013) Despite the expectations of a decrease in job growth, surprisingly, job growth is still possible during a 16-day government shutdown. According to CNNMoney, “The U.S. economy added 204,000 jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Concord Bookshop Paper Monica Wilson HCS/587 January 14, 2013 Dr. Sonnia Oliva Concord Bookshop Paper I would like to present the caase of a Concord area bookshop where organizational change goes wrong on many levels for a number of the stakeholders; i.e., store employees and some members of management. Spector (2010) points out that the board of the 64 year old institution decided to hire a new general manager, in effect causing de facto demotions. The workers wanted to meet with the owners to discuss the issues but the owners declined. They opted instead to move forward with their planned change, minus any employee input. The proposed change caused a number of employees to resign and many in the community to voice their outrage.
