Handling a Job while in school In most student cases holding a job while in school could be quite challenging and a tough task to handle. Even though the fact many students enjoy having extra pocket money for the weekend or personal expenses, it somewhat impacts their performance in school. Holding a job while in school creates lots of stress and responsibilities that could lead to failure in school, lack of sleep, and even a high number of absents and tardiness. A job always draws down your attention and creates many distractions in your personal life and could lead you to failure in school. At same time responsibilities at work and home can conflicts with your time and wont be able to sustain the recommended rest for a student. And working a lot or overtime working always makes you tired, which could cause you to miss days at school or even show up late constantly. School is important and many students find it hard to cope with it especially when jobs become part of their lives. Based on my personal past experience with handling a job while in school, it wasn’t so manageable. I had times when I would work afterschool and long shift constantly. Even though it seemed good that more hours I was working, the more money I expected on my paycheck. It felt good every two weeks to receive a reasonable check that I could spend on myself and other expenses. In my situation, I had few bills and responsibilities to pay off. Most of my money was dedicated to my personal bills like monthly phone bills; food, clothing, and bus pass for every month, entertainment expenses when I go out on weekends, and mainly to have extra cash with me. Even though every time I got paid I would plan out my ways of spending it and how to maintain it. But sometimes having money at young age does not result in good outcome.
