| Health and safety induction assignment 202-Task1A | It is important when working in the salon to be as professional as possible. To behave professionally, stylists must: Wear the correct uniform. The correct uniform is a black tunic, black trouser, black cardigan and closed toe shoes. Name badges should be worn at all times. Jewellery should be kept to a minimum and earrings that are too big, should not be worn. This ensures that the stylists have industry identity and are easily recognised. It also creates a smart and professional image for the salon. It shows that everyone is a team. Staff should always be punctual. This means that staff should arrive at work on time. If staff are running late, they need to contact the salon as soon as possible. This ensures that salon scheduling is running as planned and that clients aren’t waiting around for stylist to arrive. This could result in the client becoming frustrated or loss of any future business. If clients don’t feel as if they are important then they aren’t going to come back and this means less money for the salon and decreased job security. Clients are taking time out of their days and don’t expect to have to wait too long for their service. They want to feel important. Wearing the correct PPE (Personal protective equipment). The salon has a duty to provide the stylists with any PPE (personal protective equipment) that they may require to do their job safely. This could be gloves or aprons. The stylists have a duty to wear this PPE. For example, when providing a client with a colour treatment, to avoid any colour staining on your hands or on your salon uniform, PPE should be worn to protect the stylist. This avoids any uniforms becoming destroyed and prevents any staining on hands. A stylist who has hair dye all over their hands looks very unprofessional. If a client sees that stylists are wearing
