Legal deviance is when someone is going against social norms but is still obeying the law. Protesting is an example of this as it is obeying the law but is not seen as the norms and values of society. Another one is cross-cultural deviance, this is when different cultures or religion see different things normal to society, such as incest is looked down upon in some cultures but in others they see it being normal, this especially applies to Pakistani and Bangladeshi cultures. Relative deviance is where some behaviouristic in different societies or different centuries may either be seen deviant or non-deviant. For example cohabitation is seen normal and is accepted in society today but is not accepted in elder generations.
D1 Select FOUR (4) aspects of professional practice * Non-judgemental approaches to practice * Good time keeping and attendance * Attitude to work * Understanding to children’s behaviour D2 Identify why each selected aspect of professional practice is essential when working in an early years setting * Non-judgemental approaches to practice A non-judgemental approach means you should treat people fair and not stereotype people “stereotyping is a label for a person or a group of people based on assumptions made about them” Taussin.p. Page 284 because it can make people feel ignored worthless, angry and frustrated. In the early years setting you should treat all children the same no matter what culture and race they are you should always treat them equally. * Good time keeping and attendance Good time keeping and attendance is very important because it shows people that you are trust worthy so many people rely on you to be carrying out your responsibilities - this includes the team, the parents and the children. Timekeeping and attendance is extremely important in an Early Years setting, for both the children and the members of staff.
By having this ability to recognize oppression helps to reject the destructive influence of messages caused by oppression. There are many ways in which we can teach children how to recognize derogatory depictions of other people as stereotypes and how to respond to them. Tatum had a good example of how to do this with her son and the book series they were reading together. Another example she used is when she explained the racism that was hidden in the ever popular
If your communication is poor and unfriendly then the person would not feel at ease and may even feel scared, vulnerable and does not want any help by you or anyone else. They are May types of different communications and I am going to talk about a few of main ones. You have one – to – one conversation, which are just two people. When you meet someone for the first time you want to let that person know that you are friendly and here to help, so the way you great them is very important. For instance if you met someone for the first time and greeted them with ‘ what do you want?’ this is not warming at all and the person could feel rather offended and would think I really do not want to talk to someone so rude and cannot be bothered.
The child may have hurt themselves and by communicating with the nursery staff they can get the help that they need. They also need to be able to communicate with you if they are having any trouble at home or even at the nursery with other children or other members of staff, so that you can try your best to help them solve these issues or atleast get them the help and support that they may need. Communication is also very important as it is a form of learning this could be helping the child understand the difference between right and wrong and the helping them gain the educational knowledge that they should be recieving while they are in your care in an nursery. Staff - Staff: Members of staff communicate with each other so that the day to day running of the nursery goes to plan, it is important to talk to each other so that you can pass important imformation about the children to all the staff in the room that need to know ie: if a child is sick and has medicine that they need to be taking or if a child has any dietry requirements etc. They also should inform eachother of any falls or accidents that the child may have had so that if you are on your break or have finished your shift then atleast the handover to the childs parent or gaurdian can be as informed as possible so that anyone in the room can tell parents if their child had a fall and what happened not just say "i do not know i was not there when it happened but i think that they may have fallen etc" this makes the whole room look
One key example is early intervention; they are able to intervene with a situation almost immediately depending if the evidence gathered and shared to other professionals shows the Childs safety is being compromised. Helping to promote the safeguarding legislation and “Every Child Matters”- Being safe. This way of working also provides a universal of services to support families who may be struggling with certain things e.g financial issues. Multi agencies are a formal arrangement. Some other benefits of this co-operation between different professionals help to maintain the focus on the child, while in the educational system.
Being professional is something that can be taught. Its usually taught to us in school growing up by our teachers, and at home from our parents. Sometimes when we do things that are foolish we expect there not to be foolish results. Usually we get lucky and things slide, but recognizing when its appropriate to joke and when its time to get serious.
These systems include; microsystem, ecosystem, ecosystem and macro system. Each of the systems has rules and norms that govern it enhance facilitating individual development. For instance; ecosystem can help in boosting children performance in school in which he or she interacts with his parents at home in which they can aid them in revision. It is an aspect that should be considered important in each and every family context because children need to be assisted in their studies more so in doing their homework (Jarvis & Chandler, 2001). If parents take much time at work for example the time spent by Chris in Iraq, their children may end up being poor performers in school which will impact negatively on their lives in the future.
Also if there ever come a time when I have to deal with a child when they are being rude, I would have to be patient with the child and also try to get the child to trust me. Although when I go into my field, I would like to learn how to better understand each individual child's problem and learn how to deal with it. My major has been a huge part of my life on how I would better myself as well as being a great early childhood development
Again that is how my parents worked with me when I was in Elementary School. Though kids may feel afraid, parents in this manner will teach them to be good when they grow up. Bruce again replies that whatever she mentioned is mostly true. He mentions that our families have mostly parental authority and that parents should fix strict borders and grant limited freedom within. He believes this is where kids will learn self independence and motivation.
