To many of us, high school could be the best times of our lives and to others it can be the worst. Our high school years is when we are maturing, they can be troublesome, stressful and maybe even something more blissful. Like in life, I also want to accomplish goals in high school. My major goal for high school is to receive a 3.5 or higher GPA each year graduate of course, I would like to be a good student, and lastly I’d like to have good friends. Throughout my years of high school I will change my mind a million times, make a billion mistakes, and learn a gazillion things but there will always be goals I want to accomplish.
I must find what interests me so that I can pick a major and know what I want to do in life. There are hundreds of different colleges to choose from so I must choose where to go and research what I need to do in order to get into that college. My SAT scores must be very good in order to get into college so I must study hard for this test. College is very expensive so I must plan and help my parents plan how to financially support the costs of college. I must stay focus when I go away to college and keep my priorities straight.
I want to finish not only my Bachelor's, but my Masters degree for myself, for them, and for the people I hope to work with I have always tried to set clear targets and reach them whatever happens. At the moment, despite the fact that I am fully indulged in studying, I find time and strength to start up new activities and reach new goals. One of my short-term goals relates to one of my dreams is making a one year plan for this year and follow it. I create short term and long term goals for myself to
For example, while in high school good homework grades are able to raise your overall grade if you did not do well on tests, in college the grades in tests and major papers (essays, projects, and researches) are the most important things that provide most of the course grade. Also, in high school if someone has received the grade of D and higher then they are able to pass the course but in college someone can graduate only if their average is same or above their departmental standard. Second, there are many differences in classes between these two institutions. Although in high school for students listening is sometimes more than enough however in college students should review class notes and text material regularly and ask for information from professor teaching assistance tutoring services and even from other students. Additionally, students in high school are provided with textbooks for free, whereas in college students need to buy textbooks and class materials.
(Teacher) (Class) 1 November 2011 High School Vs. College Everyone needs a good education in order to sufficiently make it through life these days. In order to achieve this, a person must graduate high school and college. Many people seem to think life as a high school student and a college student are very similar, but to me they have many differences. When I graduated high school, I decided that I would go to college and I became very aware of not only the differences, but the similarities as well. A couple of the things I noticed were the differences in the scheduling and rules and attitudes, responsibility on my part, and the work load.
They could also go and learn a new language or tour a different country. “Learning a foreign language is a skill you’ll have for the rest of your life and one that employers find very attractive” (McKay). Taking a gap year will help the students gain many personal skills that they will use in the long run. Did you know that many academic benefits come with taking a gap year? “Gap year students show a clear pattern of having a higher GPA than would otherwise have been predicted, and the positive effect lasts over all four years” (“Data”).
Just think about all that hard work you have done throughout the last three years; taking test, completing projects, and preparing yourself for college. Many colleges require a list of all the classes you took your senior year, even the levels of those courses. By looking at this list they will determine what kind of students you are and if you decided to slack off. Senior year is just another year to strengthen your knowledge and learning skills, to prepare for all the challenges ahead. A successful senior year can lead you to a better path to a successful future.
My first planning is to success with my four-year times study at the Economic and Finance institute. I want to improve my English language skill including writing, speaking, listening and grammar. Besides, i need to study about my weak point and change it to become stronger than study at High school. Because i want to become an outstanding student, that why i need to know about all of this things because it can make me know about myself clearly and i can also challenge with the
As far as being mature and determined. In high school, you are reminded of things that need to be done, and events you must attend. In college you are obligated to know and remember your tasks, objectives, and the skills needed to succeed. In high school you are not responsible for knowing what it takes to graduate. As for a college graduation the requirements are complex and differ from year to year.
Jones 1 High school vs. College Going from high school to college, while it’s very exciting and fun, can also be very challenging. It is a great milestone in a person’s life. A huge step that a student will either adjust to or struggle with. With many differences there are certain similarities as well.
