Goals Never Die Allowing one's personal goals to fall victim to life's hardships may be a desirable solution, but also a costly sacrifice. It takes perseverance, drive and passion to rise above difficulties and a long-term goal always serves as a light at the end of a seemingly never-ending tunnel. My goal is simple: intellectual enrichment and the use of my knowledge to help those in need of a helping hand. My life experiences have helped me to appreciate the value of this goal, and I look forward to reaching it. Perhaps it was my mother and father who first inspired my thirst for knowledge. Parents that both lived hard growing up that could easily went down the wrong path; they never ceased to emphasize the value of a good education for themselves and always set goals. Both of my parents graduated from high school and they were the only children in their family to have the desire to go to college. They enrolled in a small college and pursued their education. My father majored in Travel Industry Management and my mother majored in Elementary Education. After completion of their degrees, they set even higher goals because “Goals Never Die.” They wanted to continue their education. My father went back to school and earned a Physical Education Degree and a Criminal Justice Degree and became an undercover Sergeant of the NC State Police. My mother earned a Master Degree in Educational Leadership and became an elementary principal. They have always set good examples and role models for other family members and encouraged them that if they could do it, then anyone can! Therefore, their actions have pushed me to do what I want to do. I am sixteen years old. Pleasing others is what I am commonly known for.
