I finally had self- confidence and the drive to make the most of my career as I neared completion of Banker’s College. Finally completing bankers college only started a drive for personal interest in a full fledged college degree and a chance at a new dream that I one day would like to complete, my own day care. When it comes to personal context the most important thing for me is a feeling of self worth. Throughout the years in high school I never really thought about my future until my senior year. So in all the years I was in high school I slacked with my grades and was very disappointed in myself when I saw my grade point average at a 2.4 for all four years I did in high school. I thought to myself, “Wow, I could have done so much better if I actually thought about where I was going to be within the next ten years.” I have saw my brothers and sisters go through college so I know I can do it too. The best thing about college is experiencing the new life. You get to meet new people and actually be in the real world.

I decided to go back to school for quite a few reasons. The main factors for my returning to school includes my family and stability also plays big role in my returning to school. My reasons for going back to school is to gain communication skills, become a good role model for my children, if I decide to have any, gain independence and seek profitable employment that would be profitable for me. My father has always been my support system in my return to school.
A college degree in Elementary Education is essential to me because I want to teach others the value of fun, learning, and the capability to be involved in exciting adventures throughout life. My personal goal is to obtain my bachelors degree in education. GCU is working as a team to help guide me through the higher education process. The team consists of a support system that can direct me academically and emotionally. The academic counselors are on hand to help answer questions, providing constructive criticism as well as positive comments and rewards.
I don’t think elementary school and middle school really prepared me for college the way high school did. Education wise, I feel like high school more closely relates to college in the sense of preparation. Taking AP classes helped show me how much work I needed to start getting used to and the difficulty of that work. What high school did not teach me was that, I have to do everything by myself, literally, everything. I no longer had my mom enrolling me in school, it was all up to me.
