I would also establish a system whereby my students complete a record card or form detailing name, contact information and any other relevant information such as medical needs. Regulations out of the way, personalities are important. I believe that if I am friendly, my learners will relax and know they can feel secure in my class when it starts. Nobody likes to learn with a grumpy teacher. I will always do a fun warm up which helps break the ice.
I really enjoyed getting to know 2 of my team members whom I worked very closely with on this project and will keep in touch with after this class is long over. As for what could have gone better, I feel we had some serious disruptions that caused our group to form in a reactive manner… versus naturally; I would have liked to experience a more solid group experience. 2. If working in a group: What did you learn from working in a project group? Aside from the class content I learned that I don’t wait for things to happen I went into this telling my group that under no circumstance could I lead this project but I found myself incapable of waiting for things to evolve on their own, I have more of a leader personality than I thought.
In today’s society conformity and deliberation have taken over the lives of many as the concept of individuality goes astray. Throughout Soren Kierkegaard’s text, The Present Age: On the Death of Rebellion, he explains his thoughts on his beliefs that this age has lost a sense of inwardness and has become more and more ambiguous with the self. In addition to this, he also stresses the dangers that are associated with these loses. Furthermore, he argues that “the most dangerous, if also the most respectable of all diseases” is “to admire in public what is considered unimportant in private – since everything is made into a joke” (Kierkegaard 9). In this essay I am in agreement with Kierkegaard that in the present age, we as a society lose character in the process of reflecting upon what we are ought to, and expected to do.
The Opportunity is that I am a person that takes criticism well. For the last two years working for a supervisor who blamed me for many of his idiosyncrasies and short comings, I now understand how to listen for the information that can propel my spirit and let things said to break my spirit roll off my back. The Threat for me is staying motivated, positive, and letting my new supervisor, who is extremely supportive of my choice to get my Master’s
Like an argument about who’s turn it is to do the pamper change. I will have forgotten my argument as well as hers in a minute while she will remember every word. In the same manner, I respond to her information in length about why it isn’t my turn and give her way more feedback than is worthy of the conversation. 2. Describe a plan using at least three specific ideas from the textbook in Chapter 4 for how you will make an effort to improve your skills in the stage you identified in response to question 1.
My second issue would be my ability to proofread. I always miss something when I proof read, once my other half reads it, he finds it right away, but I just cannot see all of my own errors. I would say my third problem is tone. Sometimes I am not sure which tone to use and if it is being conveyed correctly. I plan to work on all of these things, I am sure this class will help me learn all the skills needed to make my papers better.
I realize that not everyone will be your best friend, but if I spend time obsessing over it and begin to hate them, it will just bring down my own life. Although if I love them, or like them I will go on not worrying about all the hate and live happier. I am trying to incorporate some of the life lessons from each of the three books into my own life, so I can allow myself more personal fulfillments and cease the opportunity at an unbelievable life. Feeling fulfillment in life can allow someone to feel happy and realize what they have been working hard for will come in the
If he lets himself get out of control so much that he hates someone, then his inner self and soul breaks down or degrades. This means that overall everyone’s opinion does matter and mean a lot, but how you approach it is what matters most. Quote 2: Success is not really success if you haven’t succeeded past any obstacles to get to that sussessful life. “I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.” Booker T. Washington was telling his readers how he felt through the voice of this quote. This says to me a lot to myself and teach me a lesson.
Making it on your own At times people tend to work well while they are under pressure. To others they simply must be under pressure to get work done and give their full effort. In her article In Praise of the F Word, Mary Sherry argues “Flunking as a regular policy has just as much merit today as it did two generations ago. We must review the threat of flunking and see it as it really is- a positive teaching too.” By making it clear to students that flunking can definitely be a result of them not putting in the time and effort in assuring they pass their class will make them more determined to learn and earn their good grades, it will also help stop those students who choose not to even try in their classes. Also by making students fear failure it will not only motivate them
Jordan Taylor 4/24/12 Composition II Polites Reflective Statement In this course, College Composition II, I have learned many forms of writing effective argumentative pieces. The main thing I learned this year is how to effectively use sources to aid me in my argument. Along with that I learned that some sources are not credible and will not influence my writing much, if even at all. This helped me get better support in my arguments because I had credible sources that supported my argument. This course helped me utilize my sources better, made me realize my true freedom as a writer and understand how text may represent and have different meanings to other readers.
