Or does our history prove that Global Warming is just a part of nature? There are arguments on the causes of Global Warming; whether it is caused by humanity or whether it is caused by nature and more important there are arguments about the impact of Global Warming; some believe in positive outcomes and some believe in negative consequences. Is Global Warming really all negative or is it possible that there are benefits from Global Warming? The causes of Global warming
Gore also asserts that global warming is caused by over population. Toxins and chemicals in the atmosphere impact each individual in the world. Because of the effects of global warming, the strength of hurricanes can change easily and cause an enormous amount of
These are the clues that prove the climate is changing day by day. Begley suggests there is no certain way to stop climate change due to global warming, so now people need to find out how they are going to make efficient adaptation plans to keep the planet safe from climate changing threat. Rising global temperatures have been accompanied by changes in weather and climate. Small changes in the average temperature of the planet can be a large and potentially
Veronica Torres Mr. Bontrager October 26th, 2012 The Great Climate Flip-Flop= In todays society people do not know what global warming really is. People think all over the world that global warming is worse than it is, or not really important. According to www.merriam-webster.com, “Global Warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons and other pollutants. ” Through many years of research, it has been proven that this has been around for many years and it has been effecting us in a lot of different ways. William H. Calvin, PH.D, has published a book about his studies and his research that he has observed in the past years.
We should be concerned about this phenomenon because we never know when the climate may change again it may be cold one minute then next it may be so hot that it may be unbearable to stand. Crops getting destroyed, people falling over because of the heat wave. The word Flip-Flop is used to describe a climate change when it happens. Calvin claims that conditions in the North Atlantic Ocean are at the center of concern over climate flip-flop and here are the conditions and why they were caused and why were they dangers: If the climate switches then it can disrupt the food-supply routine and only two percent of the ninety-eight percent can eat. The system allows for a large urban population in the best of time, but not in the case of widespread disruptions.
But if my opponents did any research, they would realize that there is plenty of evidence to show that global warming is a real threat to this earth. In his essay “Now Or Never”, Bill McKibben writes: Consider hydrology, for instance. Warm air holds more water vapor the cold air, so there is an increase in evaporation in dry areas, and hence more drought—something that has been documented on every continent. Once that water is in the atmosphere, it’s going to come down someone—and indeed we have seen the most dramatic flooding ever recorded in recent years. In 1998, 300 million humans, one in twenty of us, had to leave their homes for a week, and month, a year, forever because of rising waters.
As a result of this, plants and animals are forced to adapt to significant changes that threaten their way of life. As explained by Suzuki in the article, every year at least twenty thousand species disappear forever and the rate of extinction is speeding up largely due to human activity. Many living things are now paying the price for all the man made pollution that has been created as a result of global warming. Furthermore we as a community do nothing to stop global warming and feel no sense of responsibility or duty to care for the overall well being of our world. Big businesses are releasing harmful chemicals into the atmosphere and oceans.
He dose this in order to prove that global warming is taking a huge effect on our climate. Liberals believe humans play a major part of global warming. The conservatives show that it’s the earth natural cycle and that the earth has ben heating and cooling through out history. Lisa Moore argues that the global warming is a lie to get a global warming tax and tells the truth on the swindles the liberals tell. It the article “ Swindles in the global warming” by lisa Moore claims that the liberals are just trying to get money from the government.
Global warming is the result of greenhouse gases. The accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere leads to the alteration of weather patterns. Because temperature and moisture are essential to the way organisms and ecosystems develop, climate change impacts can be a major threat to mammals. Researchers estimate that global warming has the potential to severely alter 35% of the world’s existing habitats. Climate change may cause species loss as high has 20% in the arctic habitats
Should one be concerned about rising global temperatures? How might increasing global temperatures affect us? These are all questions and concerns on the minds of many as they decide where to stand on the issue and credibility of global warming. On one side of global warming are those who believe that it is a scientifically credible concern while on the other side are arguments against global warming and an overall consensus that it is not a threat. Both sides implement several tactics including rhetorical strategies to counter the arguments of their opposition.
