Therefore Hebson was able to gain more insight into the women's thoughts on career aspirations. Unstructured interviews are also flexible as the conversation is not constrained by fixed standardised questions. This would have enabled Hebson to generate more valid information and allowed her to probe for deeper meanings. They also provide more opportunity for respondents to say what they want rather than what the interviewer expects. Hence, the women who Hebson interviewed were more likely to give answers that were more in depth and valid.
What is the main goal for this organization? The main goal for this organization is to provide female youth in Chinatown an opportunity to learn the game and become better people. How do you think this is benefiting Chinatown children? It has given my players more confident when they step on the court because they know that they can play with anyone. This has benefited the children because that confidence has translated into their personality as well as their social skills.
It was said that one ‘solution’ to the ‘problem’ of inequity was to ‘educate the parents’ (Thomson, P 2002, p. 3) and encourage them to ‘supervise’ their children whilst doing homework. This suggests that with the parent’s encouragement and reinforcement towards the child, they are more likely to want to succeed and feel they have the right to succeed, instead of there being a boundary between the advantaged and disadvantaged children. The parents of both Vicki and Thanh want the best for their children, to graduate and achieve a ‘university’ (Thomson, P 2002, p.2) degree. However Vicki is more likely to succeed because of her parent’s educational background and will be able to provide the support that she needs going through school, whereas Thanh will have to find other sources for educational help because his parents do not have the knowledge that he

A change for the future, a better future. I have always had a dream of becoming Head Girl, if I was to be Head Girl I would encourage all the students of Leeming Senior High School, lower school to upper school, to find the leader within themselves and in return give this school the pride that it deserves. Leeming Senior High School’s Student Council is a group of strongly determined youths, who are highly enthusiastic and dedicated to improving their school for the better, through various ideas that have been thought up by these students and fellow peers. Even though Head Girl and Head Boy are looked upon as leaders of this team, I believe everyone who is involved with the Student Council is equal in every way and it is because of this that the Student Council is able to fully function to the best of its ability. Throughout my three consecutive years of being on the Student Council I’ve learnt so much, that I know I will never forget.
