In both stories kids were influenced by adults. Fist Stick Knife Gun was pointed more towards violence. Geoffrey saw fighting all his life and thought that it was normal because his family told him so. “The Wave” by Morton Rhue was more about the power of other people’s say in things. Mr. Ross’ class made The Wave more powerful because everyone joined it and people thought it was the “right” thing to do.
Before I prioritized selfish desires, ambition was simply used as a means to maintain and sustain healthy relationships; to have strong friendships was the extent of ambition. I wanted this regardless of the sacrifices of certain values I held on to from very young. I became that leader, but never predicted wanting more. Although I used my powers by making group members practice harder to achieve the best sound possible, my ambition increased further. This intensity pushed me to use harsh and demeaning words to demand attention and obedience.
He enjoyed and lived his life with his friends and family. However, after the rebels begin to attack the villages, Ishmael completely changes because he had witnessed much more than a child his age should have witnessed. Ishmael sees people being brutally killed, or a van filled with dead members of families who have been cruelly murdered. The importance of this scene to the memoir is that it forces Ishmael to grow up too quickly because there is no other way of survival otherwise. A major idea that was illustrated in the memoir was the concept of survival.
Infect, it is more like sharing and giving not just food, it could be anything that could help the poverties and I think one of the most important facts is to give them all the happiness you could. Throughout this assignment, I learnt a lot about how many people out there are having a very hard time while we are doing whatever we want to do and having a best time in our life. To prevent the poverty incensement, everyone have to volunteer around them whenever they have chance to do. So some time in our or their life we will learn and also until there are no poverties in the world so the world can be happy living forever.
For those who are lied to so they join and those who join freely knowing what they are getting into their training in basic and the treatment they first receive at their new unit is crucial to their perception of military life and way of thinking. Many new soldiers do not have thick skin in the beginning, who can’t handle criticism from their peers become callus and resort to alcohol or even drugs to take the edge off. Now they go to war and spend up to a year in combat where their feelings of callus and their own disregard for other people and their wellbeing are intensified by their actions that they must do to survive. Now theses soldiers who return home and thrown back into public life with just 7 half days of reintegration and classes and one day to go over any medical and mental issues. The flag represents the soldiers that have fought at home and abroad to ensure that we retain the very freedoms that allow us to protest the wars that they are fighting. The flag represents all of our servicemen, not just the ones who are fighting to keep us safe today, but the heroes of WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Korea, The Revolutionary War and even the Civil War. All of these brave soldiers fought under one form of our nation’s
Krulak has opened my eyes to parts of our illustrious Marine Corps history that other wise I feel that I would have never known about. Through it ive come to respect the marines of the past even more because the Marine Corps as I know it today is built on their blood, sweat, and tears. The fact that on numerous occasions the people have wanted to integrate us with the other services but we continued to set ourselves apart in such a way we showed the nation that the needed us. This makes me that much more proud to be one of the few and the
It affects us(soldiers) and their family's lives, especially if the soldier died in battle. It affects leaders because they know that they have military resources at the ready. If theres is a civil war, it affects the citizen's life, win or lose, live or die. Another thing: everyone boasts how there isn't a war on American soild at the moment, but I disagree. We have drug wars, riots, and personal wars; and these go on every day of our lives, most going un-known except by the people it directly affects.
Prepare and develop a plan and give yourself options. My decision to retire began when I hit the 18 year mark. I would suggest to begin planning well before this, it was too late for me but not a total loss. That was when I decided to go back to school and work towards a degree. It was at this point that life hit me hard every job announcement out there required a degree of sort which I had none of.
They tried to get me to take a desk job. I told them I would die fighting for my country before I gave up on my country. Supporting my country is the most important job to me. So I can keep my kids and my family and my friends and they know I will never give up in till I come back in a box. Now I am one of the most decorated marine for my bravery, honor, and dedication to the marines.
