Business Analysis Strengths 1- GCP has the most customer-centric management team in the frozen foods industry. They anticipated trends such as the emergence of dual-career families, increases in commute times and less time available for meal preparation. 2- FFD has consistently delivered on the promise of convenient, good-tasting food at a reasonable price to its growing customer base. They offer better quality products than their competitors. 3- FFD has a 43% national market share (by revenues) in the "Italian frozen dinners and entrées offerings" subcategory. 4- GCP has well defined short-term marketing strategy objectives. GCP developed an approach in order to generate FFD’s annual plan. Senior management set overall top-line and profitability goals. Each division has specified annual targets for key metrics. 5- There is a strong brand image for the Dinardo’s brand. Weaknesses 1- Natural Meals varieties are only available in one size (16 ounces). By offering only a size for a party of two, they are fulfilling the needs of only one group of customers. They are not reaching out to their full market capability. 2- GCP has no clear long-term strategic direction for marketing. 3- GCP did not promote Natural Meals extensively because of the concern of tarnishing the brand’s premium image. GCP is overall weak in advertising and promotion. Natural Meals have had some "regional" promotion activity during the past two years but never ran a national promotion. 4- GCP’s organizational structure is rigid and not flexible which makes it difficult to get quick answers.
