Get Ready, Things Are Changing
Each day new and improved forms of technology are created. As humans we have learned to adapt to change with the exception of the, recording industries. The only way to step up and change is to be a part of this new age of information. Allowing people to make their own decisions about what they want will also help the industry. When people make their own decisions it makes the feel comfortable about the outcome. This statement is clear and to the point from Bansal. He said “Bands will either release self-funded low quality recordings, or will stop recording new music completely.” (Bansal) The recording industry is dying with the new and easy ways of downloading free music.
Individuals are learning new methods of creating music. The change has happened fast and the recording industry is seeing the effect of that. People are learning new ways of creating music. The producers of this new way of creating music are becoming mainstream. This form is called electric dance music (EDM), and the DJ’s (Disc Jockey) audio engineer and music producer are creating this music electronically. A lot of individuals think that producing music electronically comes easy. A good friend of mine, Derek Miller, is a DJ. I have been able to first see how producing is much harder than it sounds. You must be able to hear well and know how to use some programs, such as Ableton Live. After mastering this you can perform and sell albums. Think what if you put all this time and effort into something and nothing from it. Anyways, there are many events that are held every year that share this type of music. Every year an event called The Electric Daisy Dance Carnival (EDC) is held in Las Vegas. This show projects every year at least 250,000 people and grows each year.
