The good that can come from genetically modified food are; it can make crops pest proof, disease resistant, more nutritious, and intolerable to weather conditions. This will make farmers more confident in their crops and not have to worry so much about losing
Genetically Engineered Foods Food is the esscence of life and without it, life would fail to exist; however, the wrong nature of food can lead to the same fatal outcome. Foods that are genetically engineered are based on the premise that foods are made better for humans in many different ways (Eschholz and Rosa 537). Using the latest technology, scientists are able to create crops that are more productive to feed the ever growing population or by introducing new traits into already existing foods to make them overall better; it is easy to see why many people would think that this new technology is just another improvement in everyday lives. When modifying the food, scientists take a gene from one species and insert it into a new species to enhance desired traits such as resistance to herbicides or to provide more nutritional results. This way of improving foods has been taking place traditionally by just crossing two plants together and hoping that the new traits are taken without any negative ones (543).
But is this true? As we can truly say, nutritionism is not actually benefiting society in general because it lacks real food, it’s more expensive, and causes many diseases; however, nutritionism can be very successful for the world of business of industries. When we talk about real food, it means recognizable, good quality, whole food that rots when it's kept for too long. These foods are the ones our ancestors used to eat on a regular basis until it was replaced with a whole new type of nutrition one, in which chemically-infused, food- like materials focused mainly on nutritional facts. For example, when we go in the supermarket to buy food we read the facts in the back of the product checking what types nutrition it has, and how much it has.
Dear Senator, In less than two decades, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have replaced our diet with genetically ajusted foods, which can affect human health. GMOs are resistant to pesticides, and is created by splicing genes that are combined through genetic engineering, smething nature cant do instantly. Consuming these genetically, processed foods can lead to increased risk of diseases and even cancer. Most of the time we do not realize that we are eating these harmful toxins as they are infused in our food without our knowledge. While traditional farming choose to grow organic produce and struggle to keep their businesses alive.
They seem to be a group of caring people that want help others not suffer needlessly with Celiac Disease. I really learned a lot from the group not only about the disease, but how it affects these people’s daily lives. There is nothing like learning things first hand from real people talking about a disease they have and how it affects them personally. It is much more meaningful than a textbook. I would try to find broader ways to reach the public by having gluten-free events and giving samples of gluten-free food at the Neighborhood Co-op Grocery Store.
Genetically Modified Food can be accepted Nowadays, with technology’s developing, more and more Genetically Modified (GM) Foods are produced and come out in many markets around the world. However, there are a great number of people who think the GM foods are dangerous and may do harm to their health. Therefore, they can’t accept GM foods. Unfortunately, I believe that GM foods are available in our lives because they have never been proven to harm people so far, they are more nutritious than traditional foods somewhat and they also can benefit farmers a lot for their working procedures actually. Professor Ian Campbell from Australia's Peter MacCallum Cancer Center says that no scientific evidence showing that GM food is harmful to people's health has been presented to date.
Although many people may not like natural food because it do not have not flavor, natural food does provide enough nutrients, so people can have more energy in their daily life performance. For instance, when I eat homemade food, I have sufficient energy to be able to study, play soccer, and go to work. Therefore, I enjoy more to eat homemade food than eating processing food. Pollen believes Cooking is one of the most important health consequences of buying food from local farmers” (Pollen539) I agree, because I feel so different when I do not eat homemade food. As a result, eating homemade food with natural ingredients, it would help me out to do better of my daily activities.
What they’re farming are not animals, but are farming grass. Food is more nutritious in its fresh and whole form, but most supermarkets sell food that is processed. You get what you pay for, cheap food has a negative effect on your health. They want to change the way the food industry works and give the opportunity to provide everyone fresh food and not only for those who can afford it. They are
I believe that gm foods are GOOD and can benefit all of us. There are a lot of reason that gm food is beneficial, one reason gm foods are beneficial is that,Genetically modified foods can be highly beneficial, particularly when offered at low prices to impoverished areas. Plants can be made to be both drought-resistant and high yield, which is invaluable in areas that are arid and have few resources other than their arable land. Unfortunately, even seeds of genetically modified fruits and vegetables tend to be more expensive than their unaltered counterparts.Another reason is that,Genetically modified foods are beneficial if they are produced to improve human nutrition and access to food. For example if a given food can be modified to be grown in a new environment, farmers would be able to grow, eat and sell the genetically modified food.
Genetically Modified Foods Labeling Problems Genetically modified foods have developed massively to satisfy customers’ demand, but they have caused some controversies in society in recent decades, especially over labeling problems. Some people think that labeling GM foods will cause a decrease in consuming them. However, others think that this may help consumers categorize suitable products for them. There are three main reasons for mandatorily tagging GM foods. Let’s see how much you know about genetically modified foods and why people have to label them?
