This includes the right to marry anyone they want. Everyone should respect their fellow man allowing gays the same rights as they have including marriage. Denying gays the right to get married is a violation of their rights as American citizens and is considered unconstitutional. Gays should be entitled to the same rights as heterosexuals. Many of their constitutional rights have been denied do to the fact of their sexual orientation.
A Critique of William Bennett’s “Against Gay Marriage” The issue of homosexuals in our society is becoming more of a debate. The debate is no longer whether we should accept them, but rather, should they be legally recognized. Gay marriage should not be legalized because of its effect it would have on society. William Bennett’s article “Against Gay Marriage” was originally published in the Washington Post and highlights the negative effects of gay marriage on our society. Bennett wrongfully believes that homosexual and heterosexual unions are not comparable; however, if we change the definition of marriage, our society’s understanding of marriage would be irreconcilably ruined.
Personally, I believe that homosexuals should be granted the same rights as heterosexual couples. As someone said, “marriage is a basic human right. Yet, this same upbringing blinded me to the inherent social disadvantage experienced by transsexuals. Through my experience, I can recognize that heterosexuals are taught not to identify the privilege of their group over transsexuals. I have decided to identify some of the daily effects of heterosexual privilege in my life. I have chosen those conditions that I think in my case attach somewhat more to sexuality privilege than to class, color, or status, though of course all these other factors are intricately intertwined. As far as I can tell, transsexuals that I come into contact cannot count on most of these conditions.

Lenn Goodman believe that everyone women, men and child should have the right to live freely been humanity. Goodman believes that judger shouldn’t be passing unless you know that what you are doing is morally wrong. I agree with Goodman on the issues that he discuss on terrorism, rape, polygamy, genocide, slavery and incest. There is no justification for killing for no reason or taking advantage of a person for sexual reason.

In addition, advocates against same-sex marriage claim that it would not only weaken the respect of the definition of marriage in the U.S. constitution, but also the traditional family values tied to our country. But by letting the citizens of our country live their lives without discriminating them based on a sexual preference, our country’s social coherence can only improve. Homosexuals will be treated as part of our modern society as it already is and should be, since they are taxpaying individuals already. Moreover, some might also argue that same-sex marriage could result in a slippery slope in the legality of marriage.
This would create a vicious cycle of the poor against the rich and the perfect against those unable to reach perfection. This would never allow anyone to fight for their dreams or to try to seek a better future for them or for their families. In Conclusion, the genetic technology that we see in the movie “Gattaca” would be very harmful for society and have bad effects on how people live. It would stop those who aren’t born as planned from fighting to achieve something out of what is expected. It would be very prejudicial and people would stop caring for who you care and just look at what your hereditary traits say.
