Upon meeting his maker, Tyrell highlights Roy’s perfectness, “You were made as well as I could make you”. This acknowledgement however, is not satisfying as Roy confronts Tyrell with the question of prolonging life. When told, however, that this was not a possibility, Roy’s anger leads him to killing his ‘maker’ feeling unsatisfied and disappointed. The anger he feels towards Tyrell leads him to also murder J.R Sebastian, with no need of justification. Like ‘The Creature’, Roy is angry with his maker, though in Scott’s world, if Tyrell is a representation of God, there is an idea that we can ‘kill God’ represented as Roy kills Tyrell.
In Cat’s Cradle, science leads to the end of the world by the creation of ice-nine by Felix Hoenikker. The destruction comes about despite efforts of people such as Bokonon, who try to get people to live their lives by loving one another. Dr. von Koenigswald is a “bad scientist,” who represents the hybrid between science and religion.
The movie narrates the book of revelations on the ending of the world and takes more of a religious stand point than a literal stand point; the premise is still the same. Our Society, the human race and the world will end, all because of our own doing. Spoiler Alert. Southland Tales ends, “Not with a whimper, but with a bang”. (direct quote they use throughout the entire movie from multiple characters).

A place where there is absolute belief in religion and reproduction and where women are forced to cover themselves but at the same time are committing sinful sexual acts such as adultery sounds like a society which is inexplicable. John looks at both worlds through the lenses of the religion he got from the Reservation-a mixture of Christianity and American Indian beliefs - and the old-fashioned morality he learned from reading Shakespeare. He tries to adapt; he deludes himself into thinking that the world he entered is a better one. He faces civilized society with a bright outlook, but eventually comes to hate it bitterly. His beliefs contradict those of the brave new world, as he shows it in his struggle over sex with Lenina and his fight with the system after his mother dies. I believe he is of mine; – I am sure he is, – I feel akin to him, – I understand the language of his countenance and movements: though rank and wealth sever us widely, I have something in my brain and heart, in my blood and nerves, that assimilates me mentally to him.
