English 073 My View by reading Malcolm X Malcolm X changed his life by reading a lot of books. He was just a street man before. The good thing is for him to be consent that prison was the first thing that made his life to be changed. By reading every kind of books he learned a lot for people, places, and events for history. It was very hard for him to read in the prison because he couldn’t read late nights.
“Reunion” by John Cheever is a short story about Charlie who hasn’t seen his father since his parents’ divorce. So on his way back to his mother’s house he schedules a lunch with his father. Yet Charlie’s view on his father changes when his father continually has problems controlling his bad attitude. In “Powder and “Reunion” the authors use father/son relationships, point of view and conflict to portray to the reader that almost all father and son relationships have their flaws. In the two short stories it seems as if the sons’ relationships with their father were quite different, but they also had their similarities because both of them cared for their son.
Both Kenneth and Margret were required to ask forgiveness from afar until they receive punishment for breaking the church rules. It has been about two years since Kenneth has left the church. Throughout that time he has been hopeful that his wife Margret follow, but with no avail.

In high school, many years later, Chris learns of what his father did and grows angry at the hypocrisy of his father’s expectations. After five years of dwelling on his anger, Chris decides that he cannot stand human hypocrisy and disappears, attempting to teach his family a lesson as well.
