I will be discussing the specialised language of football. Football has a target audience that is between the ages of 12-80. The games can be watched by both men and women but most of the audience that watches the games are men, AFL or Football has a very unique language that the commentators use to explain the high paced and high intensity game. Anyone trying to watch the football for the first time will be very confused at first because of the language used by the commentators. They will often use slang and other confusing terms that people that are not ‘in the know’ of the game.
I am not much of a football fan myself, but my friend and his family are. When I go over to his house, most of what his parents talk about is football. I have watched a game with him and his parents, and when something goes wrong in the game, they get too angry and just completely over-react about it. Football is also very over-competetive. To the fans watching the game, it is always about winning and never losing.
There are three main types of soft tissues and these include tendons, muscles and ligaments. Our muscles contract to produce movement and they are attached to bones by tendons. Ligaments which are strong bonds of inelastic fibrous tissue connect bone to bone. Unfortunately for us these soft tissues cause major injuries mainly whilst participating in sporting events. The three types of soft tissue injuries include, sprain, strain and contusion.
