Disaster in Thailand 2011 During September to December, Thailand was faced with the biggest flood; it had made the biggest amount of damaged that Thailand was faced over ten years. This may be a biggest mistake of the government because they didn’t do like what the King told them to do. This flood, many people become nomad; they lost all of their money, their jobs, their house including their family. This flood effected many aspects in Thailand, but the most severe is, it effect to the people in country. There are 728 people that have died in this flood, 1,899,329 family and 5,078,477 people that was in trouble. It decreases credibility of Thailand for business investment with other country because in this flood the water also came in the Industrial estate for seven estates with 26,000 factories, made the foreigners don’t want to build more factories in Thailand anymore. It also effect to children too they cannot go anywhere 1,053 schools was close, 708 main street cannot use, and 2,202 temples were flood. According to the flood, Thailand was in trouble, we lack of water for drinking and food because many factories must close and cannot produce their products anymore. We also lack of money and homestead for helping people whose house had flooded. This damage was about 22,663 million baht. The main reason of this problem started since 1995 after the big flooded, the King has plan to prepared for the next flood so it will not be a lot of damage but to prepare for this plan, the government must have money about 10 million baht so, the government choose to do only some plan that they can pay for like build a big tunnel under the ground to let it keep the water before it discharge. When another big flood came it makes a lot of damage about twice of the last flood that had passed and twice of money that they need to pay for the plan. This is a big mistake of the
