Batiancela as the guard Summary: The Count of Monte Cristo is about a soldier called Edmond Dantes who is charged with high treason because he took a letter from Napoleon Bonaparte which was supposed to be delivered to Monsieur Clarion. He was sent to 14 years of prison in Chateau di’f where he spent 13 years and most of them accompanied by a priest that found Edmond while he was trying to escape. Edmond and the priest started working together to escape. In their free time, the priest taught Edmond to read, write, economics, Italian and many more subjects. The priest taught him how to sword fight, too. Finally, the priest died and Edmond found a way to escape. After the escape, some pirates found him and made him have a knife fight with one of them, If Edmond killed the pirate named Jacopo, then he would join the pirates and if Jacopo killed Edmond, Jacopo will stay alive. They fought, then Edmond tried to reason with the chief pirate, called Luigi Vampa, to let Jacopo live and Edmond in the crew. When they reached Marsailles, Edmond’s home town, he got off the pirate duty, started calling himself the Count on Monte Cristo and finally getting the revenge he always wanted.
