Titanic’s Critique Derek Lowery ENG 225 Introduction to Film 05/18/2012 James Cameron’s version of the Titanic story is the best version ever produced. The director was James Cameron from Canada. The producer was Jon Landou. This film was released on December 19, 1997. The length of this film was three hours and fifteen minutes. The top the stars were: Leonardo Dicaprio, Kate Winslet, and Billy Zane. The other cast were: Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, Gloria Stuart, Bill Paxton, and Bernard Hill. This movies was rated PG-13.The film had brief nudity, sex, profanity, and mild violence. The United States Distributer was Paramount Pictures. Paramount is one of the biggest oldest film distributer in the United States. It’s no surprise that Paramount is behind a blockbuster such as Titanic. The story Titanic was based on a fictional love story, but based on a nonfiction event of the RMS Titanic, which sunk in 1912. The movie Titanic is the closest we can get to see the actual ship. Most people can appreciate the work of the arts director. Somehow James Cameron encompassed being on the ship. When you watch the Movie one could feel the ship. The graphics were so realistic one could feel the wind blowing in Rose’s face as she was pretending to fly. The story begins when 101 Rose DeWitt Bukater was telling her story about her experience of Titanic. The story actually came up because Rose was watching on her television an exploration of the wrecked ship. Rose and her daughter Lizzy was flown by helicopter to the site of the exploration. The story line is on a poor boy, who meets a young rich woman, who was to be married into money. Jack Dawson wins two third class tickets to board the RMS Titanic; he won because he had a lucky hand in poker. While Jack was winning these tickets and boarding the ship, Rose DeWitt Bukater boarded this ship with her
