This twenty-one year old has accomplished many great things throughout her athletic adventure. Nathalie started playing hockey when she was four years old. At the suggestion of a friend, Sasha Cohen tried ice skating for the first time. For two years, Sasha Cohen skated group lessons once or twice a week. I made the first move by streaking between the two red circles. I then ripped the puck over his left shoulder on his glove side, slapped the netting and heard the pipes ring as it popped back out. I slid onto my back into the boards like Theo Fleury did that night years ago. Ever since I scored that goal I began to have more confidence in myself, in school and hockey as well. I also found out, after four years of visiting many doctors and trying all kinds of medicine, that I have Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of Autism.
and recited the famous speech from Miracle that would get us excited and put a smile on our faces. The game started and they played music to get the energy of a dead hockey rink going. The first two periods seemed to last forever as if each drive took an hour due to how big the sheet of ice was. It was an Olympic size ice rink that made other rinks look and feel pathetic. At the time I was not really sure because I was afraid of not making the team. So when I got to the tenth grade I decided to try out for the junior varsity basketball team. I liked that the teacher only went over the requirements for the highest scores available for each criteria because she only expected the best from her students. The students really enjoyed preparing for this
I feel that my attitude in class has also been good, although at times dance frustrates me when I have a bad dancing day. I always look forward to going to ballet class and try to find ways to improve my dancing. I feel as though I have had a positive and hard working attitude in class, and I hope that this has come across to you too. Also, I think that I have found areas to work on and have made some significant progress in improvement, although there are still many things that I could work on and improve.
